Hello everybody !

Today we are doing another in class type collaboration. This time we are working on Time feel soloing.

What is time feel soloing ?
It basically implies that you use slow rhythm to establish regular time feel (like quarter notes and half notes for example) and then you switch your playing to Double time feel (which is 8th note triplets and sixteen notes).
You can of course go other way around and start with faster rhythm but then play phrases that have slower rhythm. This is going from Regular time to Half time feel !

So I basically want you guys to show me your good control of rhythm and try to make something melodic out of it !

Backing track is at 120bpm. Chord progression is in A minor. You can use A natural minor or minor pentatonic for best results. You can also use arpeggios and for you guys wanting to tackle E7#9 chord, use F melodic minor or G minor pentatonic !

Here is the chord progression

/ A min/ D min/ E7#9 or just E7/ A min/
/ A min/ D min/ E7#9 or just E7/ A min/
/ A min/ D min/ E7#9 or just E7/ A min/
/ A min/ D min/ E7#9 or just E7/ A min/

Deadline for submitting takes is 28th of April.

I am happy GMC is back and I hope to hear some great takes in this one !

Pretty soon I will upload my take along with graphs for A minor soloing.

Look forward to your takes !

You can do it any way you want. You can do 4 bars or slow, 4 bars of fast rhythm, its up to you. Just try to make it as musical as possible !

Hey Pedja,

so it would be cool to do first part halfs and quarters and then the second part 8th's and 16ths?

Awesome Kaz
You can play exact double or ever faster than that. The point is for rhythm to be noticed and to be different wink.gif
