With a wicked backing track, just using the "first" box. It still sounds pretty cool .
In the take, there is one real sucky part:D Tomorrow, I'll do a C Lydian take!:D This post has been edited by Jesse: Apr 29 2009, 07:36 PM

Very cool latin style solo Jesse! Inserting more call & response phrases would possibly give it more structure as well!

Nice work Jesse! As Ivan said you almost got that Latin Vibe going on there!! As you know Santana favours the Dorian so studying him will help!!!

You're developing great time feel, something that is essential for highest-quality music like latin.
When you get better technique, you will be able to play incredible rhythm-displacement lick believe me. Young Santana, definitely:) -------------------- |

You need to focus more on strong notes of the scale. Especially the maj6 as it's dorian's trademark.
You had some nice slow ideas at the end though, I enjoyed it. Timing, phrasing etc I think you should work on. Good job man! And would you post that backing please? It rocked. -------------------- Eatsleepjam:
Nice Lesson! You said something about how it can be overused, what do you exactly mean by that ? Any tips to not overuse it ? -John Andrew Cockburn: Yes ... play it less often. ________________________________________________________________________________ Guitars: Ibanez 2570Z, Ibanez RG470 (I think?), an Ephiphone Les Paul, a Dean Baby V, and some random acoustic guitar.
