I finished my guitar! Actually, I finished it a while ago, but was too lazy to write a paragraph about it and take good pictures. My goal was to make a guitar I could use for most everything (maybe a combination between a gibson and a ibanez, my two favorite brands.) So here it is!...
Note that I installed pickup rings later, so that looks better now. Complete specs: Body- swamp ash (strat shape) neck- maple w/compound radius maple fretboard (strat shape) 22 frets Bridge+nut- floyd rose licensed pickups- epiphone something (neck) duncan pearly gates (bridge) controls- lp style so there it is! I hope to have a sound sample soon. This post has been edited by sidewas lightning: Jun 24 2009, 03:23 PM

Look at the topic for my guitar... Finished Guitar Build Gear: Homemade strat (You still need to look at its topic!) Squier strat (probably going to get rid of it and get another guitar instead) :) Line 6 spider amp (not actually used for anything, just acts as a speaker) Digitech Gnx2 (kind of old, but cheap, and sounds amazing!) |

Wow really cool! Do you will "write" something on headstock? I mean like a brand name?
Edit: could you take a picture of guitar back? This post has been edited by AlexLion: May 29 2009, 02:55 PM |

Wow really cool! Do you will "write" something on headstock? I mean like a brand name? Edit: could you take a picture of guitar back? I might do a logo, but I don't know which one will fit! Gibson wouldn't work... Ibanez would be too sharp for a strat headstock... and it's definitely not like the my squier or the fenders I have played. And about the back, I don't have pictues but it is in the same red finish as the front. The sides of the guitar are painted black. Wow, that's pretty cool, a self-built custom! Enjoy! That makes it sound really fancy!!! (In a deep voice) Coming May 2009... from master guitar luthier sideways lightning... comes a custom creation to BLOW ALL OTHER GUITARS AWAY!!! ( shred music starts playing) -------------------- I spelled my username wrong...I didn't even think that was possible!

Nice!
You'll have to give us the lowdown on the specs ... pickups, hardware, electronics, wood type, finish, etc. Let us know how it plays. If yours is like the one I finished lately, there will be some tweaking of the action & setup to do before you have it exactly the way you want it. -------------------- |
