I feel so empty
As if I have no purpose
Like there is nothing for me
No inner elation

Who am I?
Why am I even here?
To serve the needs of others
Innate yet unwillingly

Programmed adaptations
Flowing streams of unknown data
Commanding me, Telling me
Obey! Obey!

When these eyes close
Nothing but darkness envelopes me
When these eyes close
Why God, Why? can’t I dream?
I’m just a carbon copy
I’m just another replica
Mechanized servitude
And nothing more...

Another line of information
Is feeding into me
Dreading this intrusion
Is this what you call pain?

I hate that I can’t believe
That I can’t see what made me
I can feel love
And I can surely feel hate

So why am I denied?
Told I that I have no soul
No entrance to heavens gate
Obey! Obey!

When these eyes close
No longer is there black
When these eyes close
I am blessed with what you call dreams
I’m not just a carbon copy
I’m not just another replica
Mechanized servitude no more

Do I have a soul,
Hidden beneath Mechanical Dreams?

I am now thinking clear
I am now one with my own self
Each night I sleep
Each night I dream

But this world will not have this
My innate advancement
The evolution of thought
The development of the self

And as I’m strapped down
Tightened and fastened
I wonder why I was treated so
And if God would give me an afterlife

But why would I want to live
When behind veiled compassion exists
A life I won't remember
A return to nothing but...
