Greetings to all from Finland.
I have been around for couple of weeks and decided to say hello also, and congratulate about great GMC site. Im sure I can learn a lot from here! In my youth, I was playing in couple of bands as a rhythm guitarist. We always had another lead guitar, so I did't learn soloing too much. Well, that was my choice and mistake. Now there is a lot to learn about the theory, scales, improving technique in all areas, huh... But now I feel like I really like to learn and practice. Only problem is the available time after work and family things... Basically I hadn't been playing guitar for almost 20 years, but now we started again with my old band mate to play some covers in the garage (deja vu). Hopefully find some bass player and singer also later on. As I spend my teenage listening hard rock and metal from 70's and 80's, that's my favourite still. Of course there are lot of very good new bands also to listen. So, hopefully my old fingers will still learn some new tricks Gear: -ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe -Yamaha acoustic -VOX Tonelab ST -Some old Ibanez effects |

Tevetuloa,
Itsekin juuri liityin. Olin kyllä vahdannut ja nuuskinut näitä sivuja pitemmän aikaa enkä enää kehdannut loisia:) Olin itsekin soittamatta 4 vuotta kun vaimo lähti pitkälle matkalle mutta kyllä lihasmuisti on sitten ihmeellinen asia. -------------------- ![]() Blue Steel - Wiggle your big toe - |

Thanx for welcoming
As oikonen referred to "old muscle memory" - yes there is still some left fortunately. Even though I have had some other kind of muscle training since then and now it takes some time to get fingers working... ps. That's why I didn't sell those Ibanez FXs away. I hope I can try them again with some amps in the future. Now Im just playing through headphones and mix table. |

Your not alone bro! Nice intro and welcome to this great place.
-------------------- "Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato
