Ilock is a security device that prevents piracy I think.

the catch being that the ilok isn't free. I never priced them, but it's a usb dongle (as David says) so maybe it could still be fairly cheap? podfarm is an excellent re-amping VST.

Yeah. iLok is an anti-piracy mechanism. A usb dongle that needs to be connected whenever running an "iLok licensed" application/plug-in. You buy 1 and it holds the license for multiple products. There are benefits to it, such as it being cross-platform, and you can have multiple installations and move the license around, rather than having a product associated with a specific computer.
This offer is really cool if you already have one. Not nearly as cool if you don't - they cost about $40USD. I just thought many of you might already as it's a very common (albeit sometimes frustrating) copy protection method for music software. The offer is not only for ilook , but all compatible line 6 devices. Pod farm plugin has a great variety of sounds, you can achieve it for free during september. Great opportunity!
