I already said that in the "gmc hurted my fingers" thread: use moisturizing soap and a rich hand lotion. This will reduce or prevent calluses from getting to hard, but they'll still be hard enough to play guitar without pain.

I used to have horrible skin on my fingers because of too much playing but I never really cared a lot smile.gif Now, after many years, I even see some slight deformations and I still don't care much.

They seem to go in cycles. Sometimes it will feel like I have no calluses at all...then other times they will be rock hard with sharp edges.
