Guess what just got better? http://line6.com/podfarm/
Apparently the routing is better, proper midi control introduced (or made more obvious?), and a modular approach to allow you to load up the plugin for various elements alone if you prefer not to bog your CPU with a giant VST for just one model. Brief overview seems to be here, but I expect more demos to follow: Special offer seems to be running now for registered accounts, check your email. -------------------- ::jafomatic

Yeah I saw this video this morning and was like yeahhhhhhh kewl My reaction was similar. Something like "OH DEAR LORD, FINALLY" with regards to the restriction on order and number of effect types. I'm also looking forward to the MIDI capability which may have existed before (I know the old plugin exported its control parameters) but now has a "learn" feature that may allow me to just pick up a generic foot controller and use it. *drool* -------------------- ::jafomatic

probably the only line 6 product I'd actually recommend, used pod farm for a while now and its really not bad, the marshall emulations are very good to my ears, never thought there was a foot controller though, interesting.

Looks good. That thing with chaining looks really easy and effective. Other similar products have it but not this easy. I would like to hear samples.

I'm starting to dislike Line 6.
Sure they make decent cheap products, but why do people who already have POD Farm have to pay for POD Farm 2? After all it's just an update, not an entirely new program. -------------------- Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard 2008 Fender Squier '51 --------------------- Amp(like): Blackstar Series One 45 Line6 POD Studio UX1 Marshall MG15CDR --------------------- Effects: Dunlop Crybaby 535Q DigiTech Whammy Z.Vex Fuzz Factory Dunlop MXR Carbon Copy |

Yeah its kinda bad idea as its an upgrade and good thing about line6 gear was that you get those updates free especially if the sell that software with new units - old users shouldn't pay more...

Very nice that upgrade is available, but I think it should be free for all users.

Is your next album free for the folks that bought the first one? Ahh nice. You know, I never paid for POD farm at all. I just went over there one day, probably from a link here, and it was free. Of course I do have a guitar port and am a registered user which might be why. -------------------- Had a guitar hanging, just about waist high, and we are going to play these things until the day we die. |

Anyway, the point was that work went into the software just like work goes into making music. The music isn't free for all users, so I don't see why the software should be any different. -------------------- ::jafomatic

On a side note. Anyone else have to toggle HTML every time you reply to a post here? I cannot get my cursor to go below the original post. Still I don't know any software producers (with a few exceptions of course), that would make you pay for the product every time a new update was released. Point is, if you're gonna charge this much money for 1.x->2.0 upgrade it better be a whole new program. POD Farm 2 is exactly the same with some new features added. And I bet you will still have to pay for every little amp/fx pack to get the "full experience". -------------------- Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard 2008 Fender Squier '51 --------------------- Amp(like): Blackstar Series One 45 Line6 POD Studio UX1 Marshall MG15CDR --------------------- Effects: Dunlop Crybaby 535Q DigiTech Whammy Z.Vex Fuzz Factory Dunlop MXR Carbon Copy |
