FREE PLUGINS! (From VOXENGO)
For those of you who have made it to the stage of recording where you are working with "Plugins" in your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation Software - Like REAPER), here are some killer FREE plugins from Voxengo. The TUBE WARMER is a great plugin and puts warmth back in to tracks that may sound a bit to "digital". If you are still new to home recording and words like plugin, daw, etc. are a bit of a mystery, by all means take the plunge and download reaper. It's a very professional DAW and highly compatible and increasingly popular among musicians. It's easy to get stuck using whatever software came with whatever hardware you happen to buy. Try to fight that if you can, as it will restrict your ability to work with others and collaborate when they are using software you have never touched. Here is the link to the FREE PLUGINS! http://www.voxengo.com/group/free-vst-plugins/

GUITAR RIG 4 CUSTOM PATCH (Blues/Tube Lead) Merry Xmas! Happy Holidays! Here is a custom made Guitar Rig 4 patch for those who are trying to get a more tube/blues sound out of it and I have included a preview file so you can hear what it sounds like ahead of time. I did put in quite a bit of Gain (naturally), while trying to retain a tubey sound. Enjoy! P.S. If you don't have Guitar Rig, go and download the FREE VERSION! I"ve got posts about it further up in this thread. [attachment=22554:DoubleChunk.mp3] [attachment=22555:DOUBLE_CHUNK.zip] Here is what the patch looks like. A couple of tube screamers, Marshal Head and Cab, etc. Just noticed. This patch above (DOUBLE CHUNK) should actually be in the PRESET VAULT in this thread. http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=540175

For those IZOTOP OZONE fans out there, big news! VERSION 5 is out! You can download the DEMO for free. There is also a "Pro" version with extra plugins that you can try as well. It all looks pretty interesting to me

It all looks pretty interesting to me http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozon...5+New+Customers ![]() I have to say that personally I would not use the 'extras' in the advanced/pro in a routine mastering session. Most just aren't suitable for routine mastering with the exception of the EQ and dither. Personally we have better EQs anyway and a range of dithers and even if we didn't you can get better for less than the package price. Dynamics - rarely use a multiband as broadband is more than good enough and less likely to screw up the mix. Rarely need to add/change reverb, virtuallly never use maximisers/exciters and if you need to adjust the stereo image you can do it with standard tools. Vector scopes, spectrum analysers, meters and so on - learn to listen to what you are doing rather than watch some scope on a screen. So even at the special introductory offer price I just don't think it's worth it for anyone interested in mastering. The whole marketing of this as 'Pro' mastering suite is This post has been edited by tonymiro: Nov 11 2011, 10:04 AM -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. I have to agree that the pro version is not the way to go. Maybe it's right for somebody, but it does seem crazy pricey and sort of a "wha?". But I am STOKED to see a new version of OZONE
As you mentioned for home recording "bedroom mastering" it's really hard to beat what this one plugin brings to the table. If folks are mastering for release, they should send their tracks to you to be honest. If not you personally, a mastering engineer they know and trust. But for demos, song work, etc., things not intended for a "Hard Launch" where there is little or no budget, this thing RAWKS! I have to say that personally I would not use the 'extras' in the advanced/pro in a routine mastering session.
