Well I'm not the biggest country music fan in the world but I do listen to a bit. For me it's more about certain songs I like however I do enjoy Johnny Cash and listen to him frequently.
But if your looking for great country guitarist Roy Clark is one of the first names that come to my mind. Whether on the guitar, banjo, fiddle or mandolin, he OWNED the instrument. not just country.... Roy use to be on a show called Hee Haw back in the 70s... I think is from that show |

When I was a little kid, I think my mom used to watch Hee Haw sometimes. I remember seeing Roy Clark and saying "man, I would like to be able to play guitar as good as that guy can someday." Check out the acoustic one of him that Rok posted above. I think you could call it acoustic folk flamenco shred. Awesome.
I'm not a huge country music fan but country guitar rocks! There's no doubt that country players and country guitar styles are killer. All the ones you guys posted so far are insanely good players. This post has been edited by JamesT: Jul 10 2011, 05:43 AM -------------------- |
