So far I was using digital cameras for video production, mostly Nikon D500, D7000 and D300, and they were all producing good results, but I was always missing the HD camcorder feel. Soooooo
 this is what I got now Panasonic HDC-SD60 )-1WebA1001001A09L25A60655B76604.jpg) Cheapest native 1MOS HD camcorder (cheapest I could find), but it does the job great, specially in low light conditions!  It has component and HDMI outs, writes 1080@50i@17mbps AVCHD videos on memory cards, and has awesome zoom!

Nice camera, I hope you will be satisfied! I see that it captures in the interpolated mode. There was no progressive version ?!

I have the exact same one but its a HDC-HS60 ...not sure the difference haha

that's nice man, but do you prefer a camcorder instead of a dslr? i couldn't be happier with mine

No progressive version in this price range, progressive recording is usually reserved for more expensive models. Just tested it out today, and the result is awesome!
BTW, technology really advanced, the cam has some awesome smart functions and BIG optical zoom. It can register a dosen of different faces, recognize them, shoot video or pictures if the person starts smiling, automatically adjusts to the environment just like an eye would do, turns on the light automatically. I'm generally against auto settings, I prefer manual, but this actually works. It even has a cool playback "highlight" function. Based on the date, chosen time of the video, and registered faces, it can create "highlight video" with focal points, so the material is already edited based on the people who are appearing. It can create several different home videos instantly. Instant home video straight from the cam! (it even has cheesy home video background music built in to support it  ).
