If we would harmonize the E major scale.
The I chord would be E Major, the II F#minor, III G#minor, IV A Major etc ? -------------------- |

When we harmonize the E major scale we get the D dim chord. But you can use the D major chord with E
For example, E-D-A how come? -------------------- |

We use D# diminished in the case of the E major scale Cosmin Ah right, yes its D# dim. But in the chord progression of my new song, which is in E major, I used a D major chord for example, then a C#/D, G#/A All makes sense but the D chord. Sounds good, but theoretiacally idk really how it makes sense -------------------- |

I have another song I want to do. I should finish the ones im working on, but I would like to start it.
Im satisfied with the melodies and structure i can come up with, but as usual I dont come up with any good chords. My intentions is to do a song in a minor, combining with a harmonic minor. -------------------- |

Hey, you are right Check back in the thread, we were going to build som more riffs. Main riff and another variety I came up with, but think I need some more variations during the song First thing, would you like to make a structure which you could follow? Intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, middle, chorus? I think this is a good place to start, once you get things in place in your head, it will be easier to work, rather than just trying to come out with various random parts. You know, it's easier to come up with things when you have limitations imposed Cosmin -------------------- My music:

The intro/main riff is kind of done.
The verse is a quite done, i will do a chorus too and record. Also working on this one: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...ck-ballad-solo/ That 0:44 lick is so hard Also bens iced earth but my right hand just dont like that gallop Made a little recording for you Im kind of happy with the main riff and the phrases. Just got to come up with some better arpeggios, and some cool chorus riff. Well its an instrumental song, more a melodic one than a riffing song, so the riffs are not supposed to be the coolest you ever heard, but it still needs another good riffing idea I think.

Hey Cosmin I need help with a lick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYM864IOTs8...feature=g-all-c
1:36. A legato lick. It look like from the video that there is no plektrum used at all in the beginning of the lick. This post has been edited by ElHombre: Jul 15 2012, 10:06 AM -------------------- |

Hey Erik, indeed, Marco doesn't use any plectrum almost until the end of the phrase - I'll slow it down and see what I can tell you about it -------------------- My music:

Howdy Erik! Sure man, tweak it and post it on YT if you'd like
I will tackle the lick on Tuesday when I get back in town, I am leaving to the mountain house. I am having the laptop with me and I will be on the forums to answer stuff, but I will not be having my guitars with me. Glad you made it on the collab man! Cosmin -------------------- My music:
