Hey guys I have decided to create a Rhythm Corner once a week every Tuesday I will be posting new exercises that will help you develop timing and be in the pocket!
All Lessons will be Tabs and GP 5 files! There is only one rule: ALWAYS PRACTICE THOSE EXERCISES USING A METRONOME AT A VERY SLOW TEMPO If you not ignore ignore this rule you will harm the whole process of developing your timing! Here are three exercises to start with!
Ex.1.gp5 ( 2.05K )
Number of downloads: 53Let me know if you have any questions or need help!!! -------------------- |

what about the picking direction? Can you elaborate. I guess the first exercise is strictly alternate picking then....? Thanks Carmine |

Hi Alex,
first of all, nice to meet you. Thank you for this corner which is so important. It's really exciting to work with you this way. If you agree, I wish to submit you a recording of this first step at 120bpm. The third part was really tough, and I hate triplet 4th (is that the right name for the last measure ?). I've learned it by reading, so I hope I didn't misunderstand any part of it. I join also an image of your work for those who wouldn't have GuitarPro or TuxGuitar and who, as I do, don't understand anything to ASCII tabs Best regards. ![]() http://soundcloud.com/grindguer/rhythm-corner-01/s-hcL08 -------------------- Million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.

Thanks Carmine I would suggest alternative picking for all the exercises Exactly what i need thank you Alex , you rock I am glad you like it!!! Hi Alex, first of all, nice to meet you. I am happy to meet you and I am glad you have decided to join my rhythm corner! You did a very good job! The first exercise was perfect When you got to the second and the third one you started to rush on triples try to practice triplets only for a while and really concentrate on the groove it will help! If you have to do it even slower and you will get it! I'll be dropping by this for sure. Cheers Alex. I'm always am in a hurry to play faster without really nailing it first at slow speeds. Guilty! Sounds good! Just practice at a slow tempo and you will sound great in no time! -------------------- |

Hey guys! I have decided to post a new exercise a little earlier!
So here is the track http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/rhythm It has drums only! The chord we will be using is E7#9 (Hendrix chord) ![]() Tempo is 90 BPM So what I want you to do is to listen drums very carefully and play on every snare hit! This exercise will help you develop your timing and you will learn how to play together with drums! For now play on snare only and nothing else! Let me know if you have any questions or need help! -------------------- |

Hey Carmine,
nice attempt here. But I think you didn't answer the right question I'll try to give it a go later myself. Cheers. -------------------- Million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.

Alex this is what i could do with the drum only backing track. Wait for your comments. Regards Carmine Good job! The only thing you play on kick and snare this will be later for now concentrate on snare only! About your take you are not really locked with the groove try to really focus when you are playing and make yourself play lay back! And for now do only snare! Hey Carmine, nice attempt here. But I think you didn't answer the right question I'll try to give it a go later myself. Cheers. You were correct! I am looking to hear your take! Give it a try it's a very fun exercise! -------------------- |

Cheers. http://soundcloud.com/grindguer/rhythm-corner-02-grindguer/s-MiZ0c Hey! Good job! It's is almost perfect! Sometimes you are a little ahead but very close!!!! Sounds very good! Can someone explain me about snares and kicks, please. Carmine Hi! Kick is a big drum that is on the floor (Low pitch) and snare right by the drummer (hight pitch) Usually kick is coming on one and snare on two So if we will count 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and Kick Snare Kick Snare Snare So I want you to count and play on the snare GrindGuer got it right so you can refer to his take to get an idea as well! -------------------- |

Thanks in advance Carmine Good job!!! You got it! Some hits were a little bit off but nothing major! I did similar idea in Funk rhythms! My advice would be to practice it every day a few times trough you will see the difference in your timing in a week! Just try to concentrate, focus on the beat and hold yourself back and you will do great!! As I was saying before everybody has their own inner groove you are walking, talking, breathing and even blinking at your own tempo we just have to connect with your playing! -------------------- |

how do you get the "classical" funky tone, a' la Nile Rodgers? Should be a single coil guitar, but what about amp and effects? Thanks in advance Carmine |
