> IS THAT YOUR MAMA?

Nope didn't think so either. We all know parents don't get this.

I can show you how to be the virtuoso your folks could only dream about, but I first need your help:

* Pm me and I will show you where to start. I am online every day and I will help you out directly!

* Join my mentoring program. I will customize your learning experience in a way you haven't experienced before. We will have regular contact so that you can remain inspired every day and eventually reach a new level.

* Join my next video chat! GMC startpage holds a video chat schedule. We always cover a lot of ground and have fun. Remember that you don't need any previous knowledge, and you can be passive in the chat.

* Jam with me - you will find active collabs here.

* Post a topic on this board, guitar related or not - doesn't matter! You will find that chatting with instructors boosts your motivation to practice.

* You haven't missed my latest video lessons, have you?

* Oh and did you know that to become a killer guitarist you just need to focus on one thing? Everything
else is secondary. Pm me and I will explain.

Hey mate! Check this out: here is your spot! We can discuss anything you like about your development as a player and musician!

I can help you out and I will also help you post recordings of yourself wink.gif please tell me what sort of music are you listening to and I will go ahead and suggest a practice routine. Now, if I could see you play, that would help a whole lot! So let me know when you would like to send a vid or recording of some sort wink.gif

Ask anything and I'll do my best to help out!

Cosmin

Hi Cosmin, sorry for the late reply, i posted yesterday too but it didnt seem to make it
Thanks for being my mentor smile.gif rolleyes.gif
I love thrash metal, melodic metal, heavy metal, a bit of nu metal and hard rock.
My favorite guitarists and what i like about them
- Dave Mustaine - overall the best guitarist for me, great at riffing, does great solos, and he is a great songwriter, lyricist and a good vocalist too. My biggest influence
- Alexi Laiho - a great shredder.
- Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield - a great team, i like kirk's use of wah, but sometimes he overdoes it
- Eddie Van Halen - Love his tapping and tone
- Randy Rhodes
- Marty Friedman - Love his vibrato and note selection, gives his solos an exotic, chinese or arabic kinda like an eastern feel
- Jimmy Page
- Slash - not one of my favs, but definitely like him
- Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King
- Bullet For My Valentine's Matt Tuck & Michael Padget

thats it probably......

here's a vid of my playing, I've been playing for about one year, but could play for the past 3-4 months due to studies, so I am a bit off.

Here are the things I would like to work on
- Lead Playing
- Technique Development
- Theory (right from scratch, all i know is the note names, whole steps & half steps, and minor pentatonic scale ( just how to play it)

Thanks & reply soon
Yash

Hey there Yash!

we can start right away wink.gif but I would like to ask you to send the video again, as there's no link here sad.gif

Theory

We shall begin with the major scale and I'd like you to take a look over these links here - we shall start our discussion based on them:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/wiki/inde...01_%28lesson%29
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...-C-Major-Scale/

Technique

I would start with alternate picking and legato and tackle other techniques later on!

A very important idea is to manage to play consciously through various rhythmic subdivisions, thus I am recommending this lesson:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Picking-Hand-Basics/

Please take a look over these and let me know on your thoughts, k?

Cosmin

Yeah I looked, pretty basic things, I'll have'em done within a week.
Thanks for the comment on the attitude, I played with emotion right from day 1, when i didnt know wat a powercord was, and i'll be like that forever, emotion first.
But the weapon doesnt help me, its neck is too fat......should I shave it now, or should I get another guitar and then experiment on it ?????
Wat do u think ? mellow.gif

Mate, a fat neck will give you a good boost on tone wink.gif don't shave it. In time, you will discover that an axe which is less easy to play on, may have a better tone than one which is easier to play biggrin.gif do, go with what you have right now!

OK, but we're talking about a $80 guitar. It has no tone, but you're right, if that happens, I am gonna lose whatever tone i have, so I'll hold on, but if you think that it wont have much effect on such a cheap guitar, I'll shave it

Yeah, I'll be buying new gear this June or July..... Budget will be anywhere from US$4,000 - $10,000, it depends. And I need to buy everything from scratch, as if I never had anything
Here are the most probable stuff
- A Jackson King V (probably an old KV1 or KV Pro, or even custom shop)
- Jackson Soloist or Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB1 Armorflame (looks awesome)
- An acoustic (ovation, 12 string maybe)
- A Marshall head (JVM 410HCF or the great 50th anniversary head they bring out, like they did on 30th anniversary) unsure.gif
OR
- Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Road King or Mark IIC+ unsure.gif
- Marshall 1960DM Dave Mustaine sig. cab
- An FX processor, like Fractal Axe FX II or Boss GT-10 (dont have much idea for a processor)
- Accessories and foot controller
- Power Attenuator
- If I still have money left after this, Dunlop Crybaby Rack Wah

What do you think of the list ?????? Anything you'd like to add or delete or modify ????? smile.gif

And I'll probably have to cut a lot coz i might get just $4000, if I am Lucky, I might get $10,000, or anything in between.
But yeah, i'm gonna get some nice gear....

By the way, I am done with the major scale, will be posting a vid soon, then picking hand exercise and then we're off to rhythm guitar, right ???

Hey Yash,

as we decided together smile.gif I will guide you through the world of rhythm, advancing together towards the intricate world of metal riffing wink.gif

For starting off, we will get a good grasp on timing with Bear's lessons, k?

They may seem easy, but they are the perfect brick for your solid rhythmic foundation smile.gif

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn..._1_Open_Chords/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...-2-Open-Chords/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginn...-Open-Chords-3/

Regarding the recording - you need to set the guitar volume low high enough to be heard just a but over the backing track, but not too loud and set the camera on the tripod in front of you focusing on your hands - take a pic first to see if you focused right and then once you're settled, push the rec button smile.gif try a few tests until you get it right and let me know if it worked wink.gif

see you around and let me know what you think man

Cosmin
