Hi guys I have decided to start a new activity! In this thread I will be talking about gear, cables, pickups , guitars etc.
If you have any questions or just need an advice you can always ask me! I will do a research for you and will share my experience! I have 14 years of it I want to start with a post that was confusing for me at first and took a while to figure out! How to connect pedals? ![]() The whole chain can be broken into three simple groups: Pre gain - Gain - Post Gain As you can see on the picture (starting from guitar): Pre Gain -Utility effects - tuners, metronomes etc. -Wah- wah/ volume pedal//envelope filters -Harmonizers/Whammy/Pitch shifters -compressor Gain -Distortions/overdrives/fuzz Post Gain -Chorus,Flanger,Phaser,tremolo -Delay, Reverb, Looper Let me know if you have any questions or need help setting your pedals! -------------------- |

QUOTE Ey, just saw your Gear Talk thred, awesome! Thanks in advance! The thing about side by side cables you have to get the most expensive once, the reason is you don't want to tear apart your pedalboard looking for the broken cable! I would suggest going with Mogami they are really good and will work for a good while! Also there is a trick how to make you cables last longer: If it's a season change or you are on tour going through different weather it's a good idea to unplug the cables from pedals and wipe them with dry cloth or paper towel, you will prevent condensate from happening and it will help your cables live much longer! Let me know if you have any questions! -------------------- |

This thread was a great idea. I have always wondered what the proper signal chain for effects was. Thanks, Alex!

Hi guys! I wanted to write about an amazing thing called Ebow! It will turn your guitar into violin, cello, harmonica and many other instruments! I never was able to figure out how to master it, but I know a few people who did and it sounds amazing!
Check out a little video! It cost only $100 and if you will spend some time practicing and working with it you will be able to create magic! -------------------- |

I had never even heard of an Ebow before, but after watching this I actually decided to order one and try it out! Hopfully it wil come in some time next week, and I can start practicing with it. Any tips regarding what kind of tone works best with an Ebow? -------------------- My Sound Cloud Profile: http://soundcloud.com/casinostrat

It works by creating a magnetic field and making your string vibrate! I till get much louder so be careful and keep it low when you first trying it! Also use a clean sound you will get a very nice distorted tone! -------------------- |

I wanted to tell you about a very cool instrument called Fender Bullet! 1981 USA model cost only $400 - 500
But it sounds amazing!!! It's a mix between Start and Telecaster very very nice guitar! I couldn't find a good quality video but you will get an idea! You can find it on eBay just make sure it's made in the USA and serial number starts with E this way you will get the best sounding bullet! -------------------- |

Great thread Alex!! So this means that you connect everything in front of the amp.. you don't use the loop for delay and modulation fx. Am I right?

I go in front my amps don't have effect loops And I think it is harder to control your pedals when it is going though the loop! I don't know why How do you plug in? -------------------- |

In the last two years I have been using Pod X3 live and then Pod HD 500 as a multiFX with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier. Sometimes using everything in front of the amp and other times using the four cables method. But I'm now starting to experiment again with pedals.. -------------------- Visit my Personal Board
