I've been playing casually for around three years, doing mostly chording, strum-along kind of stuff. My goal is to be able to grind out some down n' dirty blues, think George Thorogood meets ZZ Top with some Kenny Wayne Shepherd thrown in. My weaknesses are, well I'm a crappy player. I don't know many licks. I think my strong point is my chording; I am familiar with E-shape and A-shape barre chords and they are finally starting to feel kind of comfortable and sound kind of OK. I know the first two patterns of the major, minor, pentatonic and blues scales.
Favorite guitarists: SRV (of course) Kenny Wayne Shepherd Jeff Healey Billy Gibbons George Thorogood thanks! Hi! I am glad you have decided to join my mentoring program!!!

Cool! We like the same players!!!! Nice choices!!!
I have a very cool exercise for you that will help you develop your timing, alternative picking and will sync your hands together! Use it as a warm up exercise daily and you will be impressed with the results! The trick is to practice it at a very slow tempo so you have a full control over your hands!! Here is the tab E ||---------------------------|----------------------------------------|

Hello Alex
I'll take the next challenge that you have for me. Also - this video was posted in the forums a while ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...;v=noYnK9KZXAA#! I'm trying to figure out the main riff - the part he is playing when he sings "You throw me water when I'm drowning...". It looks like he starts with a D chord, but I can't figure out where it goes from there. Can you help? |
