I think you did a fantastic job! Very well played! I would suggest to keep it less busy in the beginning and build it up gradually but it sounded pretty good the way you did it! -------------------- |

Thanks now lets get to the improv Awesome! Let's start!!! Here is the backing track I would like you to use to practice! http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/withguitar It's a minor blues The chord changes are: Ami7 - Dmi7 - Ami7 - Emi7 - Dmi7 - Ami7 I would like you to start getting use to this track and jam over it! To start we will use A minor blues pentatonic in 3 positions: ![]() ![]() ![]() You can use any notes from those positions !Try to combine them together and turn them into short licks! I would like to hear what you can come up with before I will give you examples! Let me know if you need help or have any questions! -------------------- |

Wow!!! Very nice take!! I like your phrases and the sound! Very nice job! So I think I would like to switch the track! This one has chord changes! C6, Am9, Dm9, G11, C, Am7, Bm7, D7, G6, G6, F#m7, B9, E, G7#5. http://soundcloud.com/alex-feather-akimov/jazzy Let's work on this chord progression If we will analyze the first three chords we will get this: C6 - C - E - G - A Ami9 - A - C - E - G - B Dmi9 - D - F - A - C - E You can play C major scale over it or A minor, D minor, E minor pentatonics I would like you to analyze the rest of the chords we are going diatonic only so no melodic or harmonic minor yet! But we will be using this track for those as well! Let me know if you have any questions or need help! -------------------- |

(C Major Am Dm Em Pentatonics) C6, C E G D Am9, A C E B Dm9, D F A E G11, G D F A C C, C E G (G Major scale Am Bm Em Pentatonics) Am7, A C E G Bm7, B D F# A D7, D F# A C G6, G B D E G6, G B D E (E Major scale F#m C#m G#m pentatonics) F#m7, F# A C# E B9, B D# F# A C# E, E G# B G7#5 G B D# F (help!) maybe G Blues Not very good with altered dominant if I saw it on this chart and had to play i would probably stick to the chord tones and anticipate the I chord or maybe G Wholetone scale that I have never used if I had time to react. |

Wow you are absolutely correct! I like the whole tone scale idea over G7#5! You can also do E harmonic minor it will work great! I would like you to do a take and record a solo over this track! I would like to hear what you will come up with before I will give you any ideas! -------------------- |
