Here is a post that someone put on Ryan Bruce (fluff) Facebook page. It rants on about home recording being a "fad" and how lame Mr Bruce is in general, and tells him he should "go to a real studio" and such. As I was reading it, I couldn't help but feel sorry for whoever it was that wrote it. This person is obviously out of touch, and obviously very angry about being out of touch. many folks here on the site are newer players so this is mostly a warning. At some point, you may be tempted to "be that guy" when things start to change as they will, (technology/media/music/etc.) as they always do, it's possible to feel that the old familiar way was simply better and it might in fact be better. But resist the urge to come off like this. Please smile.gif

Though I am by no means 'that' guy ... home recording has been a reality since the beginning of recording and has been common since the early 80s ... it's actually pretty easy to go there when you're a lawn owner. Both literally and figuratively.

I'm sure this angry poster has all the disposable income to fritter away on hiring out big rooms and cranking amps up all day. It's a nice thought but for many of us, it's not economically viable.

If something is more convenient, does the job & gives you the results YOU want (not what others want) then why would you not use that method ?

I'm guessing he is probably the owner of a small studio and is quite bitter about the "Home Studio Revolution". Not to mention that he HATES modern music from the sound of it smile.gif Comes across as a crusty, grumpy, old fart of sorts.
