Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi Beat, good job with this lesson!

I think that you've learnt the whole lesson very well and you can play it at tempo tight and clean. The are just two details to mark on this one. The first riff is a bit different, I'm muting the low E string while I pay it and it makes it sound more "Thrash" while your version is more "Stoner". It's not wrong, just different. Then, I feel that the last riff is not totally tight, it has some timing issues, so pay attention to it.

Other than that, it's a very good take, keep on rocking.

Hi Beat. Your rhythm playing is really good, man.

Like Gab said, you don't use palm muting as much as you should for this lesson. You need the 'chunk' when you're playing metal otherwise it just sounds like skater punk wink.gif

The tone preset you're using is perhaps a bit too mild for this lesson as well... added to your soft approach to palm muting and the result is a bit tame compared to the original. So, to summarise, you need to use more palm muting and get a chunkier, heavier tone.

Hey Beat! Again your take is quite descent and needs some obvious tweaks like adding that palm muting that is in the original lesson. I think you're very close with this one. It pretty clean and alsmot proper timming but in this particular one I'm not 100% sure if it's just a little more gain needed or a bit stronbger attack from the right hand. I usually advice to use lower gain to keep things clear for the practice purpose buy in this particular case I would go for just a little more gain to get that mean, trash tone. I like the tone you choose (its frequency response). Thanx to this lack of gain you showed us important aspect of your right hand technique. This might be very subjective (because i'm not able to see how this setting reacts for my playing) but i guess you could get more bite out of it. It's not only about picking strength but also sort of "pushing the pick more into the strings". It helps to get more attack even if picking strength is limited (because of the speed for example). Try to experiment or pm me if I haven't explained clear enough smile.gif
