What chords fit over what modes?
I've always wondered about if thats how Jazz soloists phrase there improvisasions: playing the characteristic mode for the chord or the progression that the accompiment plays? Am I wrong or Am I just confusing everyone?! In other words:What chords work for what modes (generally speaking) and what kind of soloing techniques jazz players do...I know two questions for one thread is a little jotty so answer whatever you like (if you chose to do so) Cheers -------------------- ![]() |

Jazz players are using a whole lot more than just modes in their playing, lots of chromatics, outs etc.
It's surely confusing for you right now but you'll get it one day. About modes and chords for them, just make chord on each degree of mode using triads and you'll have them in a blink. -------------------- Youtube
