im been practicing sweeping but just getting down the muting and hand motions. now im ready to get the speed down. im using a metronome and i set it to 6 tuplets ( 6 neats per beat) but im a little confused. its at a low bpm at 40. it makes 5 beaps n then the sixth is a different sound. do i play a different note each one beat or play the whole part before the sixth beat. advice?

I would sugest you turn the accent off as it can be confusing.. also im not quite sure what you mean by the 2nd part but I THINK you are suposed to play it like (beep) 1 2 3 4 5 6 (beep) 1 2 3 4 5 6... with 1 being on the 1st beep.

You want to play 6 notes per beat (16th note triplets). Where you put the accent isn't relevant. 40 bpm is a good place to start. You could also play 3 notes per beat as well, which would be triplets. This would be easier at first if you want to start even slower. Does this make sense? Different sound means the first beat of the bar. So if you set to 6-tuplets - which i don't recommend - it would be tup-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tup-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap -> 1+5.
I recommend setting it to simple 4/4 beat at very slow bpm and just trying to count 6-tuplets in your head with metronome on. Count 1-2-3-4-5-6 1-2-3-4-5-6 - 6 notes on 1 metronome beat. Here: http://www2.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-gui...esson/index.htm Open video 4 and i show how to count with metronome.
