Yo manhunta, here's a drum track. No bass, I'll get around to that though. The idea for the silent part was that you do the thing right at the beginning of video five, it's supposed to go silent with the cymbals just as you begin to play that, then jump back into it (but not sure if the timing is right on that part - if you need me to edit it I will) and after that it's up to you basically. See if you like it, if there's any timing problems, etc. Then upload something with guitar and we can work on it some more

yea, i was expecting the riffs to be organised into a structured song but the drum track seemed to fit well with the actual lesson.

I'm just getting confused on what to do, I tried to come up with something totally original based on the muse lesson but after listening your tracks, I'm lost xD Just been reading back on JVM`s posts to try and clarify what you are doing. I think JVM wants you to actually learn the muse style lesson as a starting point for the band to work on. JVM, apologies if I got this wrong, maybe you could just post a clarification for us, that`d be cool m8 Rated htr I think you`ve misunderstood JVM when you asked him what you should do next (or maybe the other way around?) , he was asking you to have a brainstorming session and have some ideas for the "next" song that you`ll all be working on after this one Hope that helps guys -------------------- |

Oh, ok my bad xD...Well, I had to learn the actual lesson in order to come up with something of my own so, I guess it wasn't so bad, besides, it's already made so no harm done

Well, I kind of intended this drum track as something to just jam on a bit - yeah it does follow the lesson structure for the first half or so but after the silent part, we can kind of take it wherever. I just think the lesson itself might be a good intro that we can build off of, now that we have something recorded (I do intend to have us do a lot more with this song) we need to work on the structure of it. Any suggestions? What sounds good where, etc. Manhunta, I might take your guitar only upload and chop it up and edit my bass track and see if I can get some ideas from it.
Also the drum track was partially a test for me as I've never really tried putting drums to something before, so following the lesson structure was easiest for me, then after that I experimented a little. -------------------- Gear: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Gibson '67 RI Flying V, Mesa Boogie F-30 112 combo, crazy pedals. |

well i think the way it is at the moment sounds good.
from what weve got i'd put a small solo after that bit then back into a verse then chorus. then a longer solo. then chorus x2 or 3 fading out. thats how i would do it. -------------------- Guitars: Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ Dual EMG 81 Pickups. Hmm, I think the phaser is pretty cool but maybe only for certain parts. Like for example I think it sounds great in the part on video 5, but I think I'd prefer it just normal otherwise, what do you guys think?
I'll work on it some more and try to make a structure of the drums today or tomorrow. Right now as I see it it's kind of like the intro up until the part where the drums go silent, then it ought to be the verse, chorus, verse, solo, chorus, verse, outro. Or something similar, I'll make drums to accommodate both ideas, and if anyone else has any structural ideas let me know and we can try them out as well. Also I'll try to add some bass next round. Oh and munta, I'm not sure if you used the tone I sent you or not (haven't tested it yet) but if we could both use the same tone at least until the final version, it'd make it easier for me to just add stuff and test out some ideas myself. If you already did cheers, just checking really This post has been edited by JVM: Dec 20 2007, 05:57 PM -------------------- Gear: Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Gibson '67 RI Flying V, Mesa Boogie F-30 112 combo, crazy pedals. |

Number of downloads: 103I've just bin fooling around with Gabe's lesson a little bit on GuitarPro and i came up with some aranging and vocal ideas, and some bass riffs. Actually there was suposed to be a marker for Chorus there, but it was gone, the "video nr 5" riff is the chorus BTW. can anyone tell me how to convert photos into URL?
