Merry Christmas To Me...

... So apparently spending a small fortune on a new guitar this year was not enough. Now I've spent another small fortune on an amp. Just got off the phone with my guitar shop and have just put a down payment on a Mesa Boogie Mark V!!!!! I have been looking for a new amp half heartedly for a while now but finally decided to go for broke.... Literally

Well Now I've Done It...

Ok so while I was on vacation last month I picked up a really good set of knives as I love to cook and the knives I had were not so great... I bet you can guess where this is going I was making supper this evening and while I was chopping up some vegetables I accidently chopped the tip of my finger pretty much off Yep it was just hanging there... gross I know sorry. I even managed to cut part of the nail off too.

After the initial shock, I wrapped my finger up the best I could, got my boyfriend and we headed to the hospital. Good news is I didn't damage any nerves or ligaments, just a nice clean cut. Bad news is I now have 6 stitches on the ring finger of my fretting hand and can't play guitar for about 2 weeks when the stitches come out Plus it hurts like a... well you know.

I miss my old crappy knives.... and I'm still hungry as haven't got supper yet LOL!!! I think take out is in order.

Love The Cooley's Reel Lesson

Hey Lian,

Just wanted to say again how much I love the Cooley's Reel lesson. As a huge fan of celtic music, I love how you rocked out such a traditional arrangement

Here is a recommendation thread I started a while back... which I really should update again now that I think about it. Hope you find it interesting and maybe find a few bands you can enjoy. I'd also be interested in a few Celtic/Folk metal band suggestions if you have any. I enjoy that style but am not very familiar with it.

Them Crooked Vultures

Hey GMC,

Just wondering if anyone else has heard about this new supergroup?

They apparently played the Metro in Chicago last night, but it is proving hard to get a listen to these guys. "These guys" being Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and some guy named John Paul Jones from this little group that was big back in the 70's.... you probably never heard of them... I think they were called Led Zeppelin or something I'm really anxious to have a listen, I mean it's Grohl, Homme and John Paul Jones!!! Talk about some amazing musicianship. I am waiting with bated breath to hear something by them. There is some stuff on youtube but it's horrible quality. Apparently an album is due in October.

A Whale Of A Tail ;)

Well GMC this summer has been awesome. As some are aware I went on vacation in June and saw all kinds of nature including some humpback whales. Well I had to go away for work last week and I saw some more whales.... even got some work in too LOL!!!

We went Cod jigging and had a visit from 2 humpbacks and man were they close. We could almost touch them. My co-worker took some of the shots and some are mine but what an amazing day.
