Hiya. In order to freely flirt with my guitar, I learned A major and all its modes all over the guitar. But I somehow am not able to produce the kind of noises that would please me. One of the probable reason is because I have not chosen the right scale. Can someone suggest what scale should I choose to begin with, to create some really tasty riffs and licks rock style.
To give a little hint, I like Led Zep, Metallica, Slash and all those rock and roll bands of the 70-80's. So probably some lightning on what scales they worked with would help.
Also, A minor pentatonic box seems to be a pretty popular box. May I know from which major scale,if at all, is it derived from?

Hey I was wondering how to create drum tracks which sound realistic as well. For open source guys I found something 'Rhythm Rascal'. If you could forgive the sound quality (though you could download better sounding wave samples from the net) this seems to be an excellent thing.
I was wondering if there are better ways for producing drum tracks. I know that Pavel endorses 'Addictive drums' and Andrew 'EZDrummer'. But I would like to know if there are other options available in the market so that i could compare the prices before getting anything. Of course a 'free method' would be always welcome .

Hello everobody...just joined GMC and too excited to post my first topic here. I am Rohit, age 20, pursuing my graduation in Aerospace Engineering (actually my screen name 'Aerohit' == 'Aero' + 'Rohit', comes from there).
I took up guitar only an year ago and I can proudly boast that I can play 'Fade to Black' and almost 'Sweet Child o Mine' (I dont have a wah-wah paddle ).
I am a huge fan of Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Hendrix...I know i live in the 60's and 70's (though i was born much later ).
By the way here is something for all the Gilbert holicks 'While my guitar gently weeps tribute'.
