Just noticed that I've missed my two year anniversary, which was four days ago!
Time do indeed fly! And I can't even imagine what I would be doing today if it hadn't been for GMC. Probably knitting mittens. Here's to many more!

So, I haven't been very active on the forums in a while, which is because I've gotten a job and worked my behind off
Because of that, though, I'm gonna get a pretty sweet paycheck soon, and my recordings in my current "Guitar -> Marshall MG30DFX -> Line In" on my soundcard sounds pretty crap unless I spend an huge amount of time mixing and equalizing stuff... After which it only sounds less crap. I know most of the problem probably lies in the Schecter I'm shredding (*cough cough*) on, but that'll be replaced by a LTD Eclipse or an Ibanez of sorts in the future ^^ So I'm gonna buy me an interface of some sorts, and I haven't really gotten into all the different kinds of boxes I can buy. So I'm basicly looking for recommendations for anything that might be pretty decent. Currently I'm leaning towards the Line 6 Pod Studio at the moment, since I've heard that one can record vocals as well... Any thoughts?

Yello!
I have an unusual question I was wondering if I could have your permission to try to duplicate your backing for this lesson, for my own practice in making backing tracks? And then record my take of it for the REC program if it turns out decent? =)

I'm having some problems with Guitar Pro.. I'm having some trouble tabbing the riffs I come up with, because of note duration.
For example: I just wrote this folk/celtic-ish lick --------------------------------------------- It sounds like this:
randomlick.mp3 ( 227.14K )
Number of downloads: 55But no matter what I do, I can't get it to fit in a guitar pro tab. I just get those red lines of doom when I try.. What I'm wondering is what I can do? Do I have to read some more theory on note duration, or are my timing in my licks just absurd? Any input appriciated! |
