Palm Mute

hey,

I'm currently working on aces high from iron maiden,

I was wondering the fast riff right after the intro,should you palm mute there to? to stop the other string from ringing?
or just let them open as you play?

Scales

Hi,

I just bought a book about scales and chords,

It has all the common scales in it.

But they use Three ways to describe their scales.

Caged system
3 note per string system
&horizontal system.

Now i assume that for example an a major scale for all three still stays an a major scale.
But what's the difference?
And is there a purpose or difference in use??

I'm kinda in a bind here.

I'm planning on buying a new guitar.
I got a budget around 2000 €.

So what is the better choice?

An ESP eclipse II (vintage black) or an comparable guitar by ibanez?
