Hey guys,

So after seeing one of my favorite bands, The Weeks, a few nights ago I got an idea. Why not share bands that are local to us with one another?

So here I am sharing. The Weeks are an amazing band from Mississippi. They play a bluesy, southern rock, funk and indie blend of music and recently opened on world tour for Kings of Leon as well as just signed a record deal.

Here are a few of my favorites of theirs:

Stumbled across this on YouTube today and thought I'd share this video with you guys who, like myself, are struggling with sweeps. It may help some of you who are already pretty good at it. Never hurts to listen to something new!

Anyway this guy gives some great in-depth tips and explanations on sweeping and the role of both hands. I for one really got a lot out of when he talks about how Paul Gilbert angles his picks. It was an eye opener.

Check it out!

Hey guys,

After a few months on hiatus I am back and ready to continue learning. Moving and college became a bit overwhelming so guitar kind of hit the back burner for a little while.

Anyway,

I need help with improving my speed and accuracy. This is the bump in the road that I've been stuck at for quite some time. I know basically to use my metronome, which I do, but I'm not noticing any real progression.

Does anyone have any tips that can help me out?

First youtube cover guys! I kept it simple. It's "To The Stage" by Asking Alexandria and it's a great jam by one of my favorite bands. Looking for some constructive criticism. There are a few times where I fall off beat but overall I feel it went fairly well.

By the way, towards the end I start looking like a jackass because I didn't really know what to do as the guitar rang out. I guess I could have faded the video out by I opted to embarrass myself instead. laugh.gif

So I just got GR5 and am getting a little overwhelmed. I can't get playback to come through my laptop, hell I don't even know if it is connect right. I got the version with the foot pedal and hooked it up exactly as the manual said and nothing is coming out.

Eventually I'll need to get it hooked up with Garageband as well. Does anyone know what to do?

Hi Trey. I actually grew up down the road from you in Gulfport. But Hurricane Katrina blew me to the extreme north of the state just south of Memphis. Later.

Sorry for late reply. I use a Jackson SLSMG. It's the same as Trond Vold's here.
