Hello my friends!
There were busy times now for me, I had a lot of things to do so I couldn't play regularly the guitar sad.gif Furthermore I had problems with my internet connection, so I couldn't access GMC! I missed you laugh.gif So now I'll have to read a lot here in the forum and then apply FINALLY to the MTP biggrin.gif
Wish you all a nice day smile.gif

So, I read this afternoon on a site how important it is to set long-time goals, medium-time goals and short-time goals.
Now I've been thinking about this and for long-time goals I've found this for me (saying to be a versatile guitar player is not enough IMO)
  • have a solid knowledge of theory and different techniques (to be able to rock laugh.gif)
  • be able to play over bluesy and funky backing tracks
  • know a lot of different licks
  • be able to play "Always with you, always with me" and "Canon Rock"

Even if I like Lian's metal lessons, I don't think I'll go too much into metal playing (which doesn't mean I won't try these lessons!), but more into blues, funk and rock'n'roll smile.gif
I like the playings of Mark Knopfler and Eddie Van Halen, but also Joe Satriani, Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, John Frusciante...

So now I want you to help me set some medium and short-time goals :S I'm not sure where I should begin (and that's why I'll apply for the MTP!) - I think if you'll help me to set these goals (and maybe suggest lessons), this will help me win a lot of time, when I start the MTP, because then I'll know better where to go smile.gif

Hi smile.gif
As I am a newbie to guitar, I started with the lessons with degree 1 wink.gif These are almost all about scales and chords... I know they are important, but I don't want to play them all the time smile.gif I don't want to go too fast, I want to involve chords and scales in my warm-up, but then play other things.
What do you think? Which chords are essential and should be learnt now, before I go further? The others I could learn while my daily warm-up...

Hi!
At the moment I'm playing on a cheap acoustic guitar, which suits for the first steps, but... I wanna play electric guitar laugh.gif
I read a lot on the I-net, looking not to spend more than 400 dollars.
I found the Ibanez GRG170DX-WH and a Line Spider 6 III 15
Is this a good combination to start? What are your experiences with them?
I don't want to focus on a specific music genre, I want to learn a lot of styles wink.gif
Or do you have any other recommandations in this price range?
Do I need other things to start?

Hi!
I'm new to GMC - and new to guitar!
I'm excited to start a new experience in music - so far I've been playing the piano, but now I wanna try to play the guitar. A friend of mine already showed me how to play some chords, but I discovered GMC an was blown away by the videos and the teachers! So i decided to join you smile.gif
Until now, I've got a cheap acoustic guitar, but I wanna switch on an electric one asap, then I'll ask more precise questions about techniques and these things ;-)
