Hi, just joined and watched the Speedpicking 1-on-1 video #2. I have two questions:
1. Many times, when I try speedpicking a certain riff or lick, I end up playing certain notes twice a-la-Miserlou. How would I mend this error? and
2. Do you know of a metronome that goes past 250 bpm for certain things like sweeping, tapping, and speed picking?

P.S. Great site! I have been a member for two days and I can two handed tap and sweep pick!

For your first question, practice slower.
For second question, is that even necessary? 250 BPM 16th notes is pretty much impossible. Your could do 8th notes at that speed but that is the same as 16th notes at 125.

Sweeping picking takes a very long time to get good at, so don't expect to master in a couple days. I know people who think they can learn it quick, no offense, but they sound like sh*t every single time, so make sure to practice very slowly to get it right the first time.

1) I don't understand what miserlou means - but I think Shellshock does!

2) Sorry I don't - I have never got up to those high tempos myself.... But I would suspect many software based metronomes can go beyon that speed.

Make sure you are not doing the mistake of interprating bpm as notes per minute - it is beats per minute!
That means that you should play 6 notes per click when playing 16th notes triplets.

Allow me to elaborate:
1. When I said 250 bpm, I had not yet viewed the "how to use a metronome" video I meant something different.
2. When I say miserlou, I am reffering to the dick dale song, where he double picks almost every note.

I'm pretty sure software metronomes go faster than 250bpm...but you won't ever need that much...sub-divide the notes
