Well if you're satisfied with general sound of your current Line 6 amp then I'd go for similar model from Line 6,with more power, just like you said. However you can check out different brands,Vox per example, they have many nice amps for good price. Peavy is fine also. But whatever you buy just be sure to try it first. Hope you have a local music store near by,take your time and try as many as you can.

I agree with Muris, Voxes are better sounding and better modelling amps than Line 6 is. I'm not sure if they have any built in effects, but the amp modelling is better.

Oh yeah, many Vox amps have built-in efxs, easy to program and sound quite decent I must say!

That MG100 Marshall, and forgive me if I am wrong, is probably the worst sounding amplifier I have heard for that price and for being a halfstack.
I read somewhere that Marshall just slapped their name on it and it is actually produced by another company.
It really does sound terrible.

MGs sound terrible.. All we get here is MG.. Just because it has a Marshall name doesn't mean it sounds great. And its really pricey for that kind of sound. This is like more than 1 year old thread.
Try the Blackstar HT-5 amps..

Indeed, some Marshals do sound kind a terrible but I hooked G-Force with one of them (solid state it was) and I applied 5khz cut, it sounded awesome imo, try that out or some other eq cut if you don't have G-Force.

Just found that MGs are made in India.. someone called it Mahatma Gandhi Series. Even the original marshalls have started to sound terrible.. what should you expect something made under license?
