Hey muris i wanted to thank you helping me out with getting my pickup setup though stans website...After reading my email about the guitar i had (ibanez 620exmq) he wanted to know what i wanted out of it sound wise.. I simply said the great muris sound...After a few days he had my setup figured out.. 2 custume wound matched rouge pickups and a pre wired vatitone plus controll system...

I did figure one thing out for sure Its not just the pickups that get that bell like tone wink.gif ....After a few hours of truss rod and bridge ajustments to get the string tention right...wammmmmmmm there it was...I recorded a solo to see what you think its not a great one ,,but i tried to make you proud of my hard work with your lessons..

Click to view attachment With this string tention you can realy tell how sloppy your playing is,,,,,,and boy do i need work lol...but one day im going to be as good as you..........cause you rock!!!!!

Ps any tips for scales i should try with this piece of music would be cool............ thanks again muris for all your help

Hey,that's really great and steady ton,glad I helped a bit!!! smile.gif

As for the scales over this backing,
you pick right thing, that's pure major/relative minor.
You can try to upgrade your phrasing by learning more
lessons at,lets say,intermediate level.
Then you incorporate those into your own playing, improvising.
And don't worry,that's not stealing! smile.gif

Keep up the good work, well done so far!

Thanks muris I am glad you liked it. Iam trying to work on phrasing a bit useing power tab to write small licks linking them together..I find the ones i write allways sound good but are pretty complicated to play. they end up kind of turning into one of your advanced lessons lol

I do have a question for you about the varitone controll....when you play do you often switch it to get more gain in some licks or do you just pick a setting you like for the song and stick with that....

I use few positions, only when I need some sound changes
without changing preamp settings.
Not for the whole tune tho, just for few licks or som. smile.gif

Well thats good to know i didnt know if it was just me or not...cause for some parts of a solo im like ahh to much bass so i will cut it with a more mid range setting......I have never used a varitone controll before,, but what a handy switch it is..Im so happy with this setup with one click of the varitone i can easily change the mood of a solo..pretty cool

Yeah,it has cool features and cuts indeed,
almost like another guitar/instrument wink.gif
