Well to get as metal as possible I would suggest learning to use downstrokes very fast and very hard - as this will give you a neat riffing sound!

Be sure to learn all the metal pieces you think sound cool - and be sure to check out Trond Vold, Lian Gerbino and Gabriel Leopardi's metal lessons here (you will of course find lots of other cool metal lessons from other instructors as well).

Also - having high output pickups such as EMG 85 & 81 with a boss metal zone distortion pedal will certainly help you as well!
