Vanskelig å hvilken av dem som er best faktisk. Har brukt begge selv, og det er ikke noe Cubase kan som Sonar ikke kan for å si det sånn.

Grunnen til at jeg bruker Cubase er fordi det er det jeg har brukt mest i åresvis, og jeg er godt kjent med hva alle knapper og duppeditter gjør. Gidder ikke bruke tid på å sette meg inn i et nytt system når jeg kjenner Cubase så godt
Cubase har også (i min mening) en bedre oversikt over prosjektet du jobber med og synes at verktøyene er kanskje litt bedre strategisk plassert enn i Sonar.

For å recorde skikkelig, så anbefaler jeg først og fremst å skaffe et dugbart lydkort hvis du ikke har det allerede.

It's difficult to say which one is the best. I've used both, and there's nothing Cubase can do that Sonar cant.
The reason i'm using Cubase is because its what i've been using for years, and i'm really familiar with it. I dont have the patience to get to know a new system when i allready know Cubase so well
Another thing is that (atleast in my opinion) you have a better overlook of your project in Cubase, and the tools are better strategically placed than in Sonar.

To record properly, i would first recommend getting a good soundcard incase you dont have one allready.
M-Audio Fast-Track USB is a good and cheap one. Just plug in your guitar and record

Btw, for creating drum and bass riffs, are those external programs that I can load in both apps?

Yes. Aslong as those instruments/programs are VSTs, then they can be used with Cubase, Sonar, Reaper, Ableton Live etc.
Trilogy is a good VST for bass, and Toontrack EZDrummer is a good one for drums.
