Ok, so this is posted as a reference point. I will re-record this in say a few weeks or a month and see how much better it is. There are a few sloppy notes, and I'm so used to doing pinch harmonics that my thumb tip gets in the way so once I train it to stay away it should be a lot cleaner. Also vibrato needs work.

Anyways, this is my reference point 1 for the beginner level.

Hey Rob,

Well, some parts are very good and some parts not. The tone is great and I actually think your vibrato is more than ok, also most of the notes are played nice and clean

The timing is very off though, you start the first solo note too early (the bend on 15th fret on the B-string) but somehow you manage to get the last note correct in time.

I suggest you play along with me in the main video of this lesson, instead of just working with the backing track/guitar pro file. And try to focus on the timing as much as you can.

Ok, so this is take 2. I've been practicing this lesson over and over and driving my wife crazy.

The outro is not very clean but the whole thing is my current take on this lesson and I thought I'd record it now and give it a break for a few days then come back to it and try again when I'm fresh. You can really hear my penchant for pinch harmonics which is not necessarily good when trying to play cleanly - as I say, I need to retrain my thumb to stay away. I know there are some notes missing but that was deliberate for this arrangement. Other feedback?

About the playing.
You have some interesting solo ideas for sure, and if you played it perfectly clean it would have been really awesome. There are a lot of sloppy notes here though which we need to clean up, but for now I think the biggest problem is the timing. I'd like to hear a more steady rhythm in your playing. A good way to practice that is to stomp your foot on every beat, and every time you hit a longer note (the first bend, for example) it should come on the beat/foot stomp.

Try this and see if you think it gets better
