I've been practising some viking style metal, and decided to do a different type of lyrics I don't usually do, telling more of a story...

Storm of the Night

In a little tabern of the howling night
Where man and shadows are born
They feast, they talk, they cheer and growl
And drink like there was no sorrow

In service of war they fight to death
Receiving all glory and gold
Except for one fellow, his stories unkown
And all he has is his dreams

To find a land, after spilling blood
Conquering his deepest desires
The dames enchanted, The pleasure taken
And a statue in his great honour

Chorus
The travellers found the biggest advice
Never fight the cold and the rain
Sometimes the eyes only see the sights
And the storm is the greatest of pain
Ending the travel of life

We seek distant magic places
To claim their ways as our own
But the worst of all
is to wake from the dark
And find you're still in dry land

You get the mightest crew you find
Leading them all to heaven
You're cursed to drown
Your hope will be lost
while your boat fades in the waves

Chorus

Solo

Chorus

The Uncreator
You hit the viking metal imagery right on the head with a bloody axe, Reminds a lot of the band Stormwarrior. Maybe at the end where you have "chorus, solo, chorus", Switch the lyrics up a bit on the last chorus maybe to keep it interesting.

I like the 2nd line here. It made me think how everytime a person is born, a shadow is aswell. Very cool.

In service of war they fight to death
Receiving all glory and gold
Except for one fellow, his stories unkown
And all he has is his dreams

I dont really like the word fellow here. Thats just me though. I might have been boring and just said "man', but you were being creative and it fits well with the style.

To find a land, after spilling blood
Conquering his deepest desires
The dames enchanted, The pleasure taken
And a statue in his great honour
I liked this verse, but it seemed rush. Like we wen from point A to B to C a little to quickly. I think it might have enhanced the piece if you took the idea from this verse, and made like another one out of it aswell. Thats just me being picky though.

Chorus
The travellers found the biggest advice
Never fight the cold and the rain
Sometimes the eyes only see the sights
And the storm is the greatest of pain
Ending the travel of life

I like ! ^ biggrin.gif

We seek distant magic places
To claim their ways as our own
But the worst of all
is to wake from the dark
And find you're still in dry land

Distant Magic Places feels very dragged out.

I might have said something like "We seek distant places,
Full of magic and...."

You get the idea.

You get the mightest crew you find
Leading them all to heaven
You're cursed to drown
Your hope will be lost
while your boat fades in the waves

Ah I like the ending!
Chorus

Solo

Chorus

This wasnt bad at all. A couple tiny things I was picky on, and I noted them above. I dont really like Viking Metal but you did venture into the style perfectly.

Keep Writing~
