Hi Andrew,

I have recently bought a guitar, and registered to GMC to take online lessons to start off.
I saw your complete begginer series (6 parts) and wondered if that is where i should start, as I cant find any other real starter lessons. (please point out if there are some lessons for real real real begginers if i have missed them)

any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Sean, welcome to GMC!

My series is as close to a beginner series as we have so I would suggest you start with that. The idea behind first steps is that it will give you the knowledge you need to start benefiting from the rest of GMC - First steps 7 is due out soon, and I am just finishing first steps 8.

Once you have worked on those, I suggest you start looking through other GMC lessons, using the advanced search to pick out some level 1 and 2 lessons to make a start on.

Also, remember you are not on your own - the forum is an amazing resource for asking questions and getting quick answers!

Finally, although it's not everyone's cup of tea, my theory lessons might be worth a look!

Good luck!

I hope you don't mind me intruding, just wanted to suggest this lesson plan that I've made recently, it may help among other things..

Fantastic help guys. Thanks to both Andrew and Ivan.
I appreciate it and will definitley use the lesson plan you set out Ivan, and will be sure to check out your theory lessons also Andrew, as I guess theory is just as important as the practical when playing.

Thanks again!!

I wish I liked that tea laugh.gif
Seriously though, I'm planning on trying to be able to understand theory this year, at least a little bit...
And I can't think of any better way than to dive into your pool of knowledge smile.gif

This may sound stupid, but being new, I have no idea what the MTP is?

Not at all!

Its the "Mentored Training Programme"

Its a resource whereby some of the more experienced intermediate players are tasked with "Mentoring" a small group of beginners, you have to apply and be selected but there are some really superb intermediate players on here and its a really great initiative for beginners, I wish I'd had one put it that way!!

Anyway, heres the sign up thread, best of luck!
