Hello!

I have a problem with your lesson on Carlifornication by RHCP. In what order should i play the parts you have learned me?
Kristofer Dahl
Good question - I am not sure so we will have to wait for Ivan's answer. However I do want to say that this kind of of song structure will be standard in upcoming famous songs lessons: (non sense example)

SONG SECTIONS:

INTRO (4 bars)
VERSE (8 bars)
BRIDGE (2 bars)
CHORUS (4 bars)
BRIDGE 2 (2 bars)
etc etc

The name of these sections should match what we call them in the videos - so that students easily can understand how to play the full song, from the "compressed" lesson version!

Ivan - if you want to add this into your californication lesson we can then republish it! smile.gif

I will add it ASAP, thanks Kris for making it clear! smile.gif

Where can I find the tab to this lesson?
Ivan Milenkovic
There is no tab on GMC for this lesson because of the copyrights, but you can watch closely the videos and learn the song nicely, everything is clearly explained. If you want you can google for tabs to aid you with the lesson. Cheers mate smile.gif

Hi,

I wonder if you can say the strumming pattern of the verse part and for the chorus because I can not see it on video.

This would help me a lot.

No problem my friend. If you are having difficulties figuring out the strumming pattern, start very slow, so you don't get confused. Set metronome on slow tempo and strum your hand using 16t note motion.

Here are the patterns for verse and chorus. Feel free to modify them a bit when you learn them. "^" symbol represents downwards strum "v" symbol represents upwards strum, and "x" symbol represents that you do not strum the strings, but instead keep the hand doing the motion over the strings. This will prevent that your hand doesn't get lost, and always keep track on the bar. You can see that there is a vertical line between every 4 16th notes. These four sections are actually quarter notes each within a bar, so this strumming pattern line lasts one bar.

^ x x x | ^ V ^ V | x V ^ x | ^ V ^ x | verse

^ x ^ x | ^ x ^ V | ^ x ^ x | ^ x ^ V | chorus
