I think you mentioned you use 10 gauze string on your guitar. I broke my first string yesterday while practicing your Steve Lukather style lesson. Yeah.. I haven't still perfected it yet. So, I was thinking of changing the strings to 10s. I also realized that my tone is bit weak (light) which I am guessing is due to the gauze. I tried tweaking the amp settings but the warmth just doesn't come out.
Do you recommend it?

Well if you're looking for more thick tone then using more thick string gauge is one way to achieve it, going from 009 to 010. Bare in mind that you would have to do new setup for you FR since it's floating (I think). FR on my custom is dive only and changing string gauge has no impact on tuning.

Great.. I am setting the FR as we speak.. since I guess this is built for 9 gauges.. I am screwing the screws but Its still high up... Hope I can fix it.

Alright!! I changed it. Feels so much better and such a warm tone. I am a fan of 10 gauzes now.. What should I do with 3 sets of 9 gauzes now?
Cheers Muris!

ha.. Perhaps I will just exchange it in the store. I wish I was in EU region so I could just ship it to GMC for another competition.
