Hi Muris,

I am listening to your album and loving it hugely - it has some amazing guitar work on it!

I have a question about tone - I am trying to get my tone sorted as you know by building an Amp of my own, problem is I have no referencers to describe the sound I am looking for apart from to point out sounds I like.

I am listening to Blue Note in A as I type this and loving the sound you are getting. Now I know that its 75% your beautiful phrasing and clean playing, but what did you use to get that creamy overdrive and beautiful sounding sustain? Its a lot like the sound I am looking for smile.gif

Also the lead in Bumps on you is pretty close - how about that?

Thanks!

Andrew

Thanks a lot Andrew,I'm so glad that you enjoy listing to it!!! smile.gif

I used Rocktron Prophesy and this Musicman Axis to record the album.
Except Epihone Chat Atkins for acoustic parts and Washburn HD-30 on Drunk Funk.
And straight into E-MU 1820m audio card.
I added some EFX here and there in Cubase SX 3 after that, but only stuff like hall, delay, a bit of chorus etc.
Also,I recorded some sounds with EFX from Prophesy as well but can't remember which at the moment..
I finished recordings in summer 2006...

Hope this helps, tell me if you need more info Andrew!!

So you like the prophecy then? Its a very tempting piece of kit, especially for recording - maybe I need to aquire one!

Yeah,Prophesy is awesome unit,I'm using it for live and recording as well.
It has 2 balanced XLR jacks for recording, works really great!!

Try it,you won't regret for sure. smile.gif

Dammit, why couldn't you tell me it sucks - thats another $1000 I have to spend sad.gif

I wonder if they will release a Prophesy III soon? The II has been out for about 5 years now I think.

Well...it sucks actually.... mellow.gif

The only difference between mode1 and 2 is that model 2 has some signature presets. dry.gif
I made every sound I use by myself, presets are always weak spot I believe...

Phew, that's a relief, I won;t have to buy it now wink.gif

In all seriousness though, you got some great sounds out of it, so I might investigate it some more smile.gif

Thanks a lot, hope you'll grab some unit that fits you soon,if not Prophesy than some other fine tube preamp! smile.gif
