Thank you guys! smile.gif
ok, I'll make a review once I've used the strings for a little while biggrin.gif

Thanks again!
Muris Varajic
I've used Polyweb for 10-15 days.
Looks amazing so far,no sign of dirt or corrosion,
shining at its best, awesome strings to say the least...

Once more,congrats Marcus! smile.gif
Kristofer Dahl
Hmm perhaps I will try this as well - I can't stand restringing, so I do it as seldomly as possible! dry.gif
Marcus Lavendell
I've used the Nanoweb Custom Light for a month now, and there's no signs yet that I need to restring!
One thing I like a lot as well is that they feel smoother than other strings - which makes it more comfortable. There's not as much resistance.

Muris,
is that your experience as well? I know you're using a different set, but still... smile.gif
Muris Varajic
Polyweb is even more smoother, bigger coating.
Some players don't like it and prefer Nanoweb.
Honestly,I'm not missing steel here at all but will try Nano as well to see the difference. smile.gif
Ivan Milenkovic
Wow, those strings are great. THey are a bit expensive tho, but I woudl definitely like to try one set to see how they behave. Thanks for sharing experience guys! smile.gif
Muris Varajic
I actually bought few sets on eBay with price 9$ per set.
That's less expensive then almost every brand available in local shops here,D'Adario,GHS,DR etc. smile.gif
Ivan Milenkovic
Do you have any customs problems or the strings come without any taxes?

Hmm,nothing too big,I payed around 3-4 BAMs=2 euros,
probably to cover local post expenses, postman is a human after all. biggrin.gif
Joe Kataldo

Indeed! biggrin.gif

A little bit off topic, but I can share some "inside information" that Elixir also will make guitar cables now (well, It's not a secret anymore since they announced it at NAMM). It comes with all kinds of guarantee about quality etc. so it sounds interesting and think I'll give that cable a try smile.gif
Muris Varajic
I didn't know that!

I recently bought some George L's cables, still waiting for it to arrives.
But Elixir is probably doing great job on cables too, gonna search on eBay,
thanks for input Marcus! biggrin.gif
Ivan Milenkovic
So you don't apply fastfret to the strings anymore? That's great news. Those strings must be great!

Well I still do sometimes,by mistake,it's more like bad habit now. wink.gif
There's no need too really, you can easily remove all dirt with cloth,
it just cannot affect steel part of string, coating does all protection.

we did that when I was buying Wallimann's CD. wink.gif

I am using Elixir strings on my acoustic guitars and love them, but I have never used them on my electric guitars so far, how do you like them compared to other strings?
Gerardo Siere
About cables, you shpuld check out Samson, here in argentina they cost like 12 dollars (3 meters) and have neutrik jacks.

I've been using Polyweb 009-042 for more than 2 weeks by now,
it feels great, sound is the same as on first day, shining etc.
Perhaps it has a small amount of "muddy" sound,
like week old regular steel strings, there's is no too much of ringing,if you know what I mean.
But I don't miss the ringing as long as strings are shining like new ones. wink.gif

I haven't tried Elixir on an acoustic guitar yet, but I love them on my electric! Maybe it's a matter of taste, but I actually like the "feel" of the coating smile.gif It seem there's not as much resistance, compared to other strings. I haven't noticed any major difference in the tone though, I think they sounds about the same as other high quality strings.
Muris Varajic
Marcus,you are using Nanoweb atm,right?
Marcus Siepen
I am using D'Addarios, 010 to 052, this "light top / heavy bottom" set. As I said I love Elixir on my acoustic guitar, I think on the last tour I changed strings on my acoustic about 4 or 5 times, and that tour lasted 18 months! And the sound was always great, so I will definitely stay with Elixir for my J45. The reason why I never tried those strings on my Les Pauls is that back then when I wanted to try them, there were not my gauges, they only offered the regular 010 set, and I definitely need the thick strings. Another reason is that on tour I change strings on my electric guitars every day, so this would definitely be a waste of the Elixirs, but now, at home, I would love to try them. I think I will check if they offer a kind of set like my D'Addarios too.
Muris Varajic
Changing strings every day, safety issues or sweating problems?
Ivan Milenkovic
So if you went on tour for 18 months.... that would be like.... 18x30=540 sets of strings? Wow, i didn't use that much for as long as I play man smile.gif
Marcus Lavendell

I see. smile.gif

Well I guess Nanoweb has identical sounding as regular steel strings,
that what people at Elixir state however.
With Polyweb..maybe,but just maybe you can feel a little but of coating,
under the finger and in sound as well.
But they state that as well, smoother sound. smile.gif

It is a safety issue, since we stared to change strings every day we don't break strings during our gigs anymore, before that this happened much more often. And yeah, I know we use a lot of strings on tour...

Wow! You must be quite fed up with changing strings!? biggrin.gif
Or maybe you have a guitar tech guy who change them for you? smile.gif
Marcus Siepen
Haha, yeah, thank god I have a very good tech that does all this horrible work for me on tour tongue.gif
