The Pianist

(Verse)
These ancient hands
Sludge across the keys
To hear what he hears
You have to see what he sees

And as the notes boom
They rattle and ring
The song kicks in
He starts to sing

(Chorus)
The chorus begins
And hearts start to break
The pace speeds up
His hands start to shake
But he always pulls through
This wonderful song
You realize life’s good
You realize you’re strong

(Verse)
The room becomes his
The world his own
Lost in a melody
He’s all alone

He closes his eyes
And drifts away
His ghostly hands
Just know what to play

(Chorus)
The chorus begins
And hearts start to break
The pace speeds up
His hands start to shake
But he always pulls through
This wonderful song
You realize life’s good
You realize you’re strong

(verse)
And on the day
That he passed away
I opened the coffin
And there he lay

While on one knee
I hummed his caprice
And repeated the words
“Rest in Peace”

So I wrote these lyrics tonight as a tribute to Jeff Healey. He was a truly great man and one of my biggest inspirations in life. I didn't quite know how to put it until I read The Uncreator's new lyrics and was inspired by the first stanza. Hopefully he doesn't mind smile.gif Anyways, here they are, not my best work, but they were completely in the moment as I was still in shock from Jeff's death. RIP sad.gif
The Uncreator
I really dig these lyrics man, i love how simply they are composed, yet how vivid the picture is.

Amazing job! smile.gif

Now I had never even heard of the guy, pardon my ignorance, I'm never much concered for famour or semi-famous peoples deaths, it does after all, happen to everyone... Having said that however, I found that the feeling behind these lyrics was really strong and I think these are easily the best lyrics you've posted here. It just knitted together superbly well and was very convincing. smile.gif

Ok. smile.gif

I'll try it in a simple way, acoustic guitar and voice,
that'd fit nicely regarding to "message" and purpose of the lyric.

You realize you are the strong

(verse)

And there he lays

I think I have a nice idea.
Also,are we missing "s" there?
My gramm isn't best, just to check it out.

I added "the" above as well, does it ruin lyric a lot?
It sounds nice here, fits metric. smile.gif

Here's kind a demo version,no real guitars(just acoustic from VG plug-in),
I almost whispered when I was singing,11PM, I had to cause of nasty neighbors biggrin.gif

I'll do vocals in pro studio(silent room, better mic, preamp etc) in next few days,
add some guitars, maybe even a solo part. wink.gif

Nice lyric indeed. smile.gif

Muris Varajic
Cause that album is fully instrumental, thanks tho, glad you like it! smile.gif
Ivan Milenkovic
Nice arrangement Muris, very gentle and music is following lyrics very nicely.
JVM
Very nice lyrics Stevie! And Muris great job. Though putting 'the' in there seems really out of place to me. It's a great track for jamming/soloing over.
Muris Varajic
Which "the"?There are many, need some light here. smile.gif

'the strong'. It sounds okay but it doesn't make any grammatical sense. Perhaps you could say something "you are so strong' or something along those lines?
Stevie-Ray-Vaughn
Muris that is amazing! smile.gif You must sing on your next album! I can't believe those are my lyrics haha smile.gif Thanks to everyone for your comments

Yeah,I thought so... huh.gif

Glad you like it SRV. wink.gif
Stevie-Ray-Vaughn
Im still amazed smile.gif
JVM
Muris, is there any way you could make a little room for a solo break in that backing? It's fun to jam to but I don't want to be playing over your vocals tongue.gif Though its kind of good for some call and response type stuff.. sounds kind of like a knopfler tune to me.

Then again it's stevie's song, your call man smile.gif
