Very nice choice of challenges. Turned out that I didn't have time for last month's challenge, as I was working on my apartment etc.
Hopefully I'll have more time this month, though I have no idea which challenge to go for yet.

I´ll try to upload my take on the advanced level. However, I have to figure that lesson out by ear/eyes because my subscription ran out.

Hmm it seems that this months challenges are "Muris Challenges" Will try to have a go on the beginner one, this time with video image, not sound only...

I started off with a whole bunch of different lessons for each level and I couldnt decide on which to use so I decided to go with a "Muris" theme
I might actually continue this idea for a bit, taking a particular instructors lessons for the challenges each month

I´ve got another question. Do I have to use the backing track? I can´t download it because of my expired access...
no you dont have to, you could use a metronome or something, your interpretation of the lesson you choose will be cool
Thanks, I hope so. I just started figuring out the advanced lesson and I have finished soon. Or is it maybe possible that someone could lend me the backing track?

Wao, those lessons a quite a challenge ... i have spend the weekend working on the fusion and tapping/legto lessons. I have to admit i'm suffering a lot. With tapping anyway, i work since a while on that, but i always have these timing flaws in there. The fusion jam ... oh my.., the notes are all over the place
Hope i will get some takes ready in time. I only have one week left as i will not be with my guitars the last two weeks of november
How is everybody doing so far ?

I tried to learn the fusion jam but it is out of my league. i wont be able to learn it in time so i will have to go with the beginner lesson wich i can play but it still need some improvment

The lydian lesson is a nice one!! A lot of nice, long notes to work on tone and vibrato and to develop an ear for the lydian mode.
If you still work on the fusion jam, i suggest to play along with the gp3 file to get a feel for the timing. I'm sure you will be able to play a slower version of the backing track. 120bpm is too fast for me as well for these kind of shapes.

Don't worry. I just gave a try to tapping/legato lesson, and this is wwwwaaaaaaaaaayy more difficult than it looks like

Yes, you are right, it's a difficult lesson. Mainly because of it's speed i think. But to dive into tapping even beginner could give this one a try. Beside the part in the middle, all the other shapes are not extremely complex and are repeated a few times before to change a string, which is helpful. 160bpm shouldn't be the main goal. For me this lesson is one of those long-term workouts ... every week there is a little progress .. a tiny little progress ..

That intermedeiet fusion jam is kicking my balls.....
It is so hard to play it along with the backingtrack with all the wierd timings and all that stuff....
The good news is i can play the first half pretty good with the backingtrack but the second part is going to take some time espesially the last part......

heres a question:
does the recording have to be exact to the lesson? or are you making it your own?
and also how do you get the backing track to put in the video? or do you just try to record both at the same time?
Ohh,I'm honored being theme for this month challenges!!!!!!
Speaking of backings, I can post them for you here in the thread if our admins/stuff are ok with that?
no offense to the other instructors,
but you are probably my favorite of the instructors because our styles are very similar, and very versatile at the same time.
if its ok with the admins, you can always send me the backing track so it doesnt get posted on a public page so it doesnt get leaked.

I guess i do the "kickoff" ...
Here are my entries for the "Muris rulez" november challenge. I have practice a lot on both lessons, advanced and intermediate. Not sure, i think only the tapping lesson will count for the challenge, but i practiced both so why i should keep one for myself.
Tapping & Legato: This take is with 160bpm, a bit too fast for me to really have control. I practice with a drum patch and it's going well up to 145bpm. Over that speed i need a dampener, mainly because of the string skipping part in the middle. Self-critic on this take are some timing flaws and i messed up a bit the last notes completely at the end .. each time i do that btw.
Fusion Jam 110 bpm: This is a great, but for me complicated lesson! I'm not finished with this one yet. So much to improve, but learned a lot already!
I hope you like it and good luck to everybody who are still practicing hard ..
btw .. starting saturday, reality calls and i will be off for some weeks. Hope i can pass by from time to time, otherwise take care everybody ... (puh, i miss this place already)

When is the deadline for this? I'm going to try and record tomorrow. It has to be a live recording doesn't it? Not a recorded take with video miming?
