Hey guys! I have to buy a volume pedal in the future and as I just tried the Ernie Ball I would like to ask everybody their favourite ones... Is there any volume pedal better than the Ernie Ball?

George Dennis & Goodrich volume pedals are some of the best I think.

You might want to check out the Morley volume pedal. Their pedals utilize an optical sensor instead of a potentiometer. Optical sensors have no moving parts so they never wear out. I've never tried their volume pedal, but I do have the Bad Horsie 2, and I love it. I like the smooth and wide sweep and the fact that it returns to the off position when you remove your foot. I'm not sure if the Morley volume pedal returns to the off position.

I'm not sure. I think that I'll use it as the first pedal in my pedal board chain...

Best Guitar Volume Pedal

I've only tried two volume pedals:

One was an overpriced Boss FV-50H (passive) and the other is my custom wah pedal.

The circuit is heavily based on the Crybaby GCB-95 with different components for more vocal range and a toggle-switch that breaks a connection to one of the electrolytic capacitors to bypass the wah-effect leaving you with a volume pedal.

There is Morley's Power Wah Volume pedal. It's the same as classic Morley's wah with spring and optical system, but this one has volume pedal as well. You might want to check it out. You could kill two things with one buy. Although, I used both 535q and morley wah on gigs, and I liked 535q better. The sound was a bit better, more natural, compared to morley, which had nice sound, but a bit darker and processed. Morley spring & optical design on the other hand is much better than 535Q...

Thanks for the details Ivan. I knew about that Morley Pedal and it's great to have both in one pedal. I'm interested in getting a wah wah and a volume pedal the live shows with Cirse so this could be a good option since I don't use a lot of wah wah but I use the volume pedal a lot. I'm a bit suspicious of the quality of a 2 in 1 pedal like this one.. I had a friend that had the digitech wahmmy + wah wha and it wasn't good. Has this pedal the same quality than if I bought the separate ones? I'm also worried about the "true bypass" feature, since it's really bad when you insert a pedal in your chain and you lose some signal...

The Morley pedals actually slightly boost the signal, its some sort of proprietary technology they have. I don't think their combo pedals have the same wah circuit as the Bad Horsie, which is probably the best wah they produce. Check out these series of interviews done with designers who work at Morley.

I only wish you the best of luck in finding the correct configuration for series of live shows, portable, durable, cheap. You understand the gear issues, and are experienced musician. Try going in the store, or borrow something for the gig, just to see how it works. I cannot claim that 2in1 Morley is good, but what I can tell you is that they are robust pedals, with great design, best I've seen with wahs. Very convenient for use. The tone, and the fact that is not a brand widely regarded as one of the best wahs is what represents the problem. Price is not that big, in fact Dunlops cost more, and any can do the job really, even classic crybaby.

Have you ever done any electronic work? If so I would be more than happy to post the wiring diagram, all you need is a GCB-95 and and a few other different components.

It would be good, and I have a friend who claims that he's a new "Tesla", so gonna check him ,hehehe

Thanks Ivan! I'll try the Morley volume and wah wah pedals because I've never tried them. I also heard very good opinions of the Bad Horsie Wah Wah 2 so it seems as a good option for a Wah Wah.
