Excellent idea. I find myself turning knobs on my eq with out really knowing what I'm doing. POD Farm.

Good idead indeed, you seem to be very good at dialing in tones.....most ppl use POD farm as it is cheap and effective and the EQ settings/explainations will be able to be transfered to other software. I really enjoyed the Gary More sound tutorial you made...very usefull

It's certainly can be helpful to have some starting EQ values based on an understanding of how certain aural/spectral issues are affected by particular frequency bands/ranges. Keep in mind though that they are starting values and generalisations. The actual settings depend on context - what sound you are trying to achieve, your equpiment, the room acoustics, placement, how the track is recorded, monitoring, other processing used, other audio/instruments/vocals that the guitar needs to sit with, etc. Also the settings for one EQ are not necessarily 100% superimposable on to a different one even if everything else is identical simply because the EQ type, preamp and filter design may be (very) different.

So start with those settings but listen carefully and be prepared to experiment and tweak them.

Hey Tonight I try make you a riff which I have eq'ed and tuned to what I like. Then we can try to tweak it to even better ? Ok ?

I think it sounds very very good. First of all, when you render, be careful so you don't clip the output. As you can see, you probably at some point in software clipped the sound, somewhere "behind" the guitar rig plugin, in the signal chain. This creates those distortion artifacts in the audio that you provided.

Another important thing is that I like both of these recordings. What exactly do you need help with?
