I have only 3!! recycle bin and two message notepad files that are there only some time.

I sometimes save some MIDI files on desktop too

How bout you guys, do you keep lots of icons on the desktop, or keep it clean?

Occasionally I put stuff I work on there, but it's such a slow place to have shortcuts.

Three for me.
I have a folder on my desktop named "Shortcuts" and put all my icons in there. It keeps the clutter down.
These days, I use the task bar for the most used programs on my PC... metronome, Pod HD Edit, Mixer Console, Sonar, Outlook, Media Player, Explorer. I also have those same icons assigned to the hot keys on my keyboard so I can launch them with one finger while I'm jamming. I guess you could call those Icons as well so make that a total of 10.

Putting your shortcuts in a folder to keep things uncluttered is a great idea! I think I need to do that, since I just counted mine and I have 118! I never realised there were that many till I counted them!

I just realised I left some stuff I never use there.

At the moment i got 18, but i guess i will delete some of them xD

1, Just the recycle bin. If I could take it off I would.

I couldn't be able to see my wallpaper before because of the icons but i cleaned up a little so it's 74 now

Oh yeah I know, but it just doesn't go away. It used to drive me crazy, now I just accept it. I am back on my older PC since my last one was irrevocably damaged, and its not the most healthy of machines lol

Around 5 icons and the recycle bin on desktop. A forgotten homework folder in the corner... I like it nice and clean, most games/apps are on quick launch.
