... do you read at once ?

At the moment, I've got 3 books that I'm reading.. K is for Killer by Sue Grafton, Hunting the Shadow by Geoff Thompson and Waking Dragons by Goran Powell (arrived today, addicted already). 1 private investigator thriller, 1 motivational self help book, 1 martial arts book.. different subjects but it's great to go from one to another !

How many books do you have on the go ?

Wow, I'd never heard of these.. I just read about the author dying before he completed the series but thankfully, leaving details of the story so someone else could complete the work.

The problem is of different nature, I love books, but don't have time for them that much. I read a lot of articles and magazines, but less and less time for books, from work, and playing. Sci-fi, adventure and music biography books are my favorite (same as movies) smile.gif
Sinisa Cekic
When I have time (unfortunately, less and less lately) I like to read Harlan Coben's books - Tell no one, Promise me..! He's bestselling "crime thriller" author these days smile.gif

this might sound stupid, I never thought about reading different books at the same time. I always thought one sucks you in so much that you might get confused?

HAHAHA

Marek Rojewski
I am reading History of Japan, second tome of Robin Hobb "Liveship Traders Trilogy", and two "teaching" books about how to better play the board game GO (also called Weiqi, Baduk, Igo). Oh and a Sc-Fic book of our Polish author - Stanislaw Lem, I don't remember how it is called:P

I am currently re-reading two books. Fathers and Sons by Ivan Turgenev, and Crown of Shadows by C.S. Friedman(Coldfire Trilogy). I usually read scifi(My favourite book of this genre is "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"), Fantasy(The Drizzt Do'Urden books by R.A. Salvatore are my favourite, particularly, "The Sea of Swords") and Noir(The Big Sleep, The Maltese falcon, etc). My favourite book of all time, however, has to be Cryptonomicon, by Neal Stephenson. I HIGHLY recommend this one. It is such an amazing book, I am glad I had the chance to be given a copy.

Recently, I have started getting into a lot of historical fiction(thanks to my fiancee), as well as Scandinavian mythos.

I used to read a lot of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft growing up, so I have volumes of their work as well.
Sensible Jones
The latest John Grisham, a Peter Cook Biography and am going through a few old 'Sharpe' novels!!

I love to read and sometimes have been known to be reading up to seven at once. Right now however I'm reading three currently. H.M.S. Surprise by Patrick O'brian, which is part of the Aubrey/Maturin series that the Master and Commander Movie was based on, Mr. Midshipman Hornblower by C.S. Forester, which is the first in a set of books depicting life abord the ships of the Royal Navy in the era of the wars between Napoleon-controlled France and England. (I love sea tales!) This series was also made into a movie for British Television I believe. The final book I am reading is The Complete Peanuts 1950-1952. This is the first in a series that puts all the Charlie Brown and Snoopy comics in book form so if you get all the books you will have every Snoopy comic ever printed, and since I have always liked these comics I am trying to collect the entire series. tongue.gif

I know what you mean.. sometimes one gets left behind more than the others... but it's nice to have different subjects to go between smile.gif

This rocks that everyone reads loads of books at the same time.. I wasn't expecting that much of a reply haha ! laugh.gif

I dont read books
The Uncreator
I never read more than one. Usually the books I read are by authors like Isaac Asimov, Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter, Robert Heinlen....And the way they write just kind of demands your full attention, lots of characters, dialogue, details, I would just get it all mixed up.

Most recent book I've read is "Pushing Ice" by Alastair Reynolds, fourth time reading it and its still one of my favorite, probably my single most favorite.
PosterBoy
I'm re-reading The Witching Hour - Anne Rice and The Code Book: The science of secrecy from ancient Egypt to quantum cryptography - Simon Singh.
Alex Feather
I hardly have time to read anything these days. The last thing I read was a book on how to quit smoking.
Saoirse O'Shea
I can't read one at a time so at the mo:

'Tigre, tigre' Margaux Fragoso

'El sueno del celta' Mario Vargas Llosa

'Point Omega' Don Delillo (read it in Spanish a couple of years ago and now re-reading it but in English)

'Logical Investigations vol 2' Edmund Husserl

I can never find time for more than one on the go, and it's always a fantasy novel or historical fiction, right now it's talon of the silver hawk by Raymond Feist. Oh and studing the RGT grade 8 exam book if that counts, though it's not actually reading.
thefireball
I'm not usually one to read more than one book at a time. It's too confusing for my mind to care about. Or maybe it's just my OCD. I don't know. laugh.gif But now I am reading "Venom and Song" by Wayne Batson/Christopher Hopper. It's a christian teen fiction/fantasy book. The main characters in the story are all like...13...but I'm a kid at heart, and it's not exactly a kid book. It's got an aim towards young people with big imaginations as myself. laugh.gif (I'm 20). It's kind of like The Chronicles of Narnia - C.S. Lewis stuff.

I am also still sort of reading the special edition magazine that tells all about Steve Jobs' career from the ground up. It's very interesting. Apparently, Pixar is what made him rich - not Apple...in a sense.

And of course, I read and study my Bible.
