what do you think ? also what does your religion say about it ?

I'm not religious but I do not believe in it.
Never thought much about it anyway, I have other more important stuff to do tongue.gif

I sure hope not! How would we get our GMC fix? smile.gif Seriously, there is a TON of hype about this but even the "converging" theories about 2012 from the Hopi Indians, Maya, etc. actually indicate a time of renewal and rebirth and the start of a New Cycle. Not just the END. But it is gonna make for some great music, TV, movies, internet memes etc.! I think this is gonna be a GREAT year for music and movies as the energy of impending doom permeates. Especially for Metal which is a tad Apocalyptic all by itself smile.gif But just to reassure, here is an article by NASA on why we are not actually staring down the barrel of a 12 month gun.

For those interested, here is the mayan calender. The "Long Count" ends but after it, a new "Long Count" begins smile.gif

No, its just the beginning of the next creation cycle in the Mayan calendar. It was never intended to be the end.
Daniel Realpe
It's clear that the mayans took cycles very seriously,

I really don't believe there's something going on there, but in the spiritual realm things don't appear on the news, or on the internet

Don't worry, guys. The world won't end in 2012. smile.gif I can guarantee that on pure faith - and I know it sounds crazy, but trust me. You'll see. wink.gif

I'll take your word Brandon! You better be right or I'll come for you wherever the two of us will be when you're wrong wink.gif
I also read that it is just an end of a cycle regarding the Mayan calendar. But I am always amazed how many books with this topic you can find in the bookstores nowadays. It's like the authors just wanna get rich quickly before the end arrives...to do what with their wealth?? wink.gif
On New Year's Eve, I told my friends and the other people that were around that I stopped everything I did to be financially secure when I am old...no more stock fonds, insurances and so on. Some reactions were prizeless...funny how many people don't understand irony laugh.gif

+1

I don't believe in any of that nonsense. Chalk it up to my lack of faith or whatever you want, but the Mayan calendar and Nostradamus never impressed me. I don't think any afterlife/end of the world scenario is probable/possible. The only scenarios I think would happen are meteorites, nuclear war, and the sun exploding. Zombies too. Definitely zombies. Nah, I don't think zombies are possible either. tongue.gif

so we are to believe someones prediction thousands of years in the future, when they could not even see clear enough to see their own demise

Wait, are we talking about the Mayans or are political systems?
