There's plenty of really awesome licks in here that (speaking from my personal perspective) really take us out of our comfort zone and should hopefully give us some more ideas that we can add to our own phrasing. Also, timing is King in this lesson, so you gotta feel that groove !

I was planning on it but didn't get a chance to get into it!

I'm playing catch up on a couple of lessons. One is yours that I put on hold a couple times to build up guitar skills. A certain collab has reminded me that I need to finally finish it.

I've been pretty slack this week (really the last 2-3) as well. Although I moved over to the Apprentice task for this week, I obviously still haven't got that done either. This one and last week's Warrior tasks were just a little over my head so I dialed it down a bit but looking forward to your next challenge.

I still owe Grind a task which I'm pretty much ready with so I'll be back on track shortly.

That descending lick at 00:09 is really annoying me.. how about you guys ???

Yeah, I can only play that at about 1/2 speed right now! That and the chickin' picking part around :40 are holding me up.
I'm just starting to get a feel for the groove overall. This piece has taken over most of my practice if I'm ever going to get it down. I'm hoping something good will come out of all this annoyance

I might be late cause this one is really hard but I do have my sights set on uploading a take over the weekend. If anything, I'll at least post my "progress".

No worries, even if it's just me with a dodgy take there will be something in this thread by Friday !

Today is the deadline so here is at least a take at half speed. I kept trying over and over to get something decent at 150 bpm but a few of these licks just aren't within reach yet. Needless to say, I'm miles away from a 200bpm take!

Thank you for your heroic offering ! I too have been struggling away with this piece but that evil descending lick eludes me. However, I still want to upload a version anyway so watch this space !

It still sounds great anyway because of your tone and feel. It's also interesting to hear how you've interpreted phrases slightly differently.

In hindsight this was probably a bit too much for a Task to complete in one week but sometimes you don't know these things until you try them

It was a humbling lesson for me. At least I have it memorized so I can always keep at some of these licks. They are worth learning for sure!
