Wow I hope they can help you because 3 days is a pretty short time. I wish you the best of luck man!

I'm lucky to remember 100 notes haha... Take care

100 songs.
How many hours are you playing in this cafe and are they paying you well?
I've had to learn a lot of tunes before (35 to 40) for a gig but never 100 in 3 days.

My advice ... get notebook and just write down the basic form - key, verse, chorus, bridge and how many times each section is played. A lot of them will undoubtedly be very similar.

That's truly weird. 100 songs sound liek a whole night gig...sort of wedding....

Anyway...make sure it's wort doing. Try to force a contract for that gig where You'll sign an agreement on how much You'll get payed for this. Best method to memorize is to write things down. Take the sheet to a gig anyway. Always start with songs most easy to memorize. Somehow while seeing song on the paper You can easily remember the form by simple A, B, C part naming. Try to relate particular titles to short form chain - ABABCBBfor example where A = verse, B- chorus C - bridge etc. It helps a lot.

Doing simple songs at first will make You able to count more songs until deadline.

BTW...always keep the sheet You make for any song. You'll never know when it will be needed again wink.gif

Darius yeah! is a wedding! and the payment is good! in this period people spend much money you know....

and also i signed to avoid problems wink.gif

good ideas! i´m going to work in this chain!

also i realize that many songs have drop tunings.... and i just can to play with same guitar....

is better to transpose? and simplify the 3 or 4 guitars in only 1?

what do you think?

thanks wink.gif

Yes - I always have to keep the essential licks/themes. You can also ask a keyboard player if he's going to play some crutial duels with You - like hotel california solo smile.gif

Just a little tip. In my regular playing I never use a capo (I like things to be harder and always transpose to a different key even if it's not easy to "finger out" smile.gif. But some song have characteristic guitar parts played with open strings and they never sound the same while trying to play diferent way in different shapes. Guitar Capo can save Your life then. For example - Singer says "Sorry I can't handle this in the original key". Make sure You have one capo in Your basic gear setup wink.gif

Hey Oscar - Ken and Darius are clearly guys that have been put in the situation to learn many songs in a short while - but 100 tunes in SUCH a short while... that, my friend is a REAL challenge.

I think the guys summed it up really well and I myself would follow the suggestions if I were in your stead - definitely write down everything and be as organized as possible. Which songs have (a) similar harmonic progression/s, how many themes do you need to remember? As a friend here on GMC has mentioned - in this situation, you need to be a 90-95% rhythm oriented musician, in order to make sure you sustain the whole show as thoroughly as possible smile.gif Will you be playing alone?
