Hi GMC-ers! This time I've decided to cover of one of the Slash's easier solos. The song is called "Yesterdays" and is the 3rd track on the "Use Your Illusion pt II" album.
The solo is, as I've said, a fairly easy one to play, however is might be a bit harder to catch the spirit of Slash because of his phrasing. The solo starts out by a whole note bending, and it's fairly easy to achieve. The second bend is a bit tricky here. He prebends the E note by a half step, and gradually releaces it, giving the solo a very bluesy vibe. The rest of the solo is fairly easy, pay attention to the bending and vibratos.
Techniques:
* Bluesy Phrasing
* Bending
* Vibrato
* Hammer-ons
* Pull-offs
Key:
B
Scales:
B Blues Pentatonic
Tuning:
* Standard E
E - A - D - G - B - E
(Thick to thin string)
If you have any questions:
* Give feedback (upper-right-corner)
* My Personal Board
* General Forum
Remember, practice everything slow, pay attention to the vibratos and the bending. Speed will eventually come with time.
Have fun practicing!/ Zsolt
